more to disclaim:
This is not a Nazi  site.
This mod is not intended to glorify the Wehrmacht or any other German military organization.
There is nothing to glorify. The Wehrmacht was an all too willing helper of the Nazi regime that came to power in Germany in 1933. In 1941, Germany invaded the Soviet Union. From the very beginning, it became evident that this war was not only a war against a state but also a war against the people. Millions of Red Army soldiers that became POW's simply died of starvation (of 5.7 million Soviet POW's only 3 million survived) and so did millions of civilians in the occupied areas (because the orders were to live "out of the country", which was another word for looting). Additionally, behind the front lines German "Einsatzgruppen" immediately started to kill (often aided by the regular Army) Jews, Gypsies and others regardless of their age or gender in incredible numbers and with a horrible efficiency. Others were deported as forced labourers to Germany or occupied territories, the list of atrocities is endless and could go on for countless pages.

In my opinion, wargamers should be aware of these terrible facts.

One of the things this mod is focussed on is the close defence of infantry against tanks. Micro managing a close assault on a big tank is a real challenge in the game and can be good fun gamewise. In reality things look a little different though. To fight a tank on extremely close range does not require heroism. It either requires stupidity or despair. The risks are extremely high and chances of success are small. From an overall military point of view it may be still a "success" if for every tank taken out 10 (purely imaginary number) soldiers lost their lives. From the soldiers' personal point of view, surrendering would have been a much wiser alternative.
What looks like this in the game
may look like this (only in colours) in reality.

Keep this in mind, we are only playing a game like that for fun and for the strategy behind it because we don't have the slightest idea of the suffering, fear, victims, injuries, nightmares and horrors that war in general meant, means and will mean.

Thanks for reading all the way through.
Luer.
