East India company is a strategy game set in the 17th Century. Players take on the role of a Governor Director of either the East India Company or one of its rivals from Britain, France, Denmark, Portugal, Sweden, Italy, or Spain. The goal is to enrich your nation with trade goods, gold, and gems while dominating rival nations. Starting with a small fleet the player will have the choice to use a variety of ships ranging from transports to military ships of the line. The below screenshots feature two ships: the Schooner and the Sloop. Other details are expected to follow, including Frigates, Flutes, Cutters, and Xebecs amongst others.
Players can create different fleets and assign them to specific trading routes. Controlling well situated ports and upgrading them is one key to success.
Eventually combat will play a role, and when hostile fleets engage each other, naval battles are fought at a real-time tactical level. Devastating broadsides are fired with a deafening roar and cannon balls tear through enemy ships and their crew. At a tactical level, players have direct command over their ship and give independent orders to each of your other fleets.
