The release date for Dragon Age: Origins has been moved back to the second half of this year.  In a press release issued today, Dr. Ray Muzyka, General Manager and CEO, BioWare and General Manager and Vice President, EA said, “Dragon Age: Origins is shaping up to be quite amazing in its level of quality and polish” He went on to add, “I’m really proud of our team, who are working very hard to make Dragon Age: Origins the biggest and most exciting BioWare game yet, and we will work to ensure it not only meets, but exceeds the expectations of our loyal audience of fans.”

Dragon Age: Origins is being billed as the spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate series, which makes the level of expectation around this title extremely high.   Details are slowly emerging, but so far the "Origins" moniker on the game's title are being taken seriously: players will start the game and their actions will determine their character type.  Literally the origin of their character will emerge as they play the game.  Players' actions will have dramatic effects on the game's outcome.

As one might expect from the Baldur's Gate series, the fate of the game world will hang in the balance, with the player's actions determining the outcome.

More details can be found on the official website, and readers should check back with us as more news emerges.

Finally, we have a few screenshots from the game.  Enjoy!
