Your eyes aren't deceiving you, these tanks are post-World War II technology in a World War II strategy game.  Muzzy Lane is slowly letting out news about its upcoming game, Making History II.

We'll try to recap some highlights.  Renowned historian and author Nial Ferguson has contributed significantly to the design of the game, ensuring that it will reflect many of the macroscopic dynamics that took place during the Second World War.  Economics, military strategy, diplomacy all played a part in the war, and each of them will play a role in Making History II.

The latest news to leak out is the fact that the game won't necessarily stop in 1945, and technological development isn't halted at the historical levels for each of the sides.

According to Chris Parsons, Project Manager for Making History II, "In MHII, it is assumed that the player’s technology focus may be different than the historical path. Jet aircraft are a good example.  Only the Germans reached the stage where they actually produced jets, but we will include jets for all the major players.  Also, in MHII victory will not necessarily be date-specific.  The game allows for the war to potentially take far longer.  We wanted players to be able to continue researching new technologies throughout the entire game, including main battle tanks."

Hmmm.  Things continue to look good for this game.  Here are the latest units we've uncovered:
