The Wargamer's 2005 Holiday Buying Guide
Introduction
If you're anything like the staff editors, writers, and
contributors of The Wargamer, you've probably been asked the difficult
question of gift buying this holiday season. "What do
you want?" The answer is often harder than it should
be, but for those regular readers of this site, there are answers to
be had. This annual holiday buying guide is our attempt to
highlight some of the best games of the 2005 calendar year, giving our
readers a chance to communicate their games of choice to their
gift-giving family and friends. It also serves to remind our
readership of the dozens upon dozens of great games to be had, some of
which might be otherwise overlooked. Who's to say you can't go
out and buy a little something for yourself?
With that said, have at our list. Thanks for your patronage of The Wargamer.
How to Use This Guide
The Wargamer's Holiday Buying Guide for 2005 is broken up into sections, with each section listing a series of games. Each game has a brief description and some helpful descriptive elements to help decide if this game might have an appeal for the gift recipient. Finally, links are provided to coverage here on The Wargamer, outside web pages where applicable, and a helpful purchase link. We recommend purchasing from e-tailers including
GoGamer (great pricing),
Chips 'n Bits (great selection of hard-to-find games),
Amazon (great for most everything
non-gaming), or the respective publisher's store for those
hard-to-find games.
Thanks for reading The Wargamer, and Happy Holidays!
