The Readers' Choice Awards - Developer

The close race between wargame developers carried over into the voting for best developer of 2006. First place voting resulted in a tie between the developers of the some of the top games of 2006, reflecting the tight voting. AGEOD and Mad Minute Games both share the glory of top developer of last year.

Right behind them was Panther Games, developer of the top wargame of last year. It’s not clear exactly why the voting ended up reversed with developer of the best wargame of last year falling behind the developers of games that it beat. It may be that while voters enjoyed Conquest of the Aegean more, they wanted to recognize the innovation and creativity of Mad Minute Games and AGEOD. Maybe not. Whatever the reason, Panther Games gets the silver for 2006.

Coming in at third place for best developer of 2006 is a hometown favorite. 2by3’s Gary Grigsby’s World at War – A World Divided did well in the voting, but not well enough to be considered a contender for wargame of the year. Still, 2by3 has a lot of loyal fans, and despite the lack of appearance in wargame of the year, they gave 2by3 the bronze as best developer of 2006.
