Review: Strategic Command WW2 - War in Europe

Thu Nov 17, 2016 3:16 pm

In a recent review I confessed a prior penchant for reading manuals virtually cover-to-cover before booting up a game for the first time, and how I seldom do that any longer.

Greetings,
Does this game have a NATO style counter option?
I don't care for the miniature style.
Thanks

Yes it does! You can switch between them I believe.

Indeed it does -- you can find screenshots of them in various places, including my feature http://www.wargamer.com/news/strategic-command-pre-release-special-naval-combat/ a couple of weeks ago as well as my (and others') AARs:

This game really is the apogee of which I can call the intermediary genre of WW2 wargaming, old Panzer General series being an example. It is well worth the money invested. Although I am a bit disappointed that it isn't released on Steam.

Hi,
Is this an evolution of the of the older Strategic Command games? How does it compare? (I enjoyed them, and I would expect some exciting improvements over that time.)
Thanks,

Hi, Daemonelsos,

I'm afraid I can't help you there, as I haven't played any of the others. Perhaps someone else can chime in...?

Thanx for reading & commenting, though!

In a word, yes.
