Alrighty everyone. Here's what to look for in the near future.
We're making arrangements to have our p500 system go live within the next 4-6 weeks. This means we can start processing real pre-orders on the next Warfighter series games, and, shortly after that, The Next Wars I. The first Warfighter series games going onto the P500 will likely be Asian Thunder, and either Legion Etranger or the (enlarged) reprint of Movement to Contact. Any/all of those names are likely to change, BTW. Scenario testing is going on now, and I've got a test game scheduled for this weekend which should get 2-3 games in on Saturday, around football viewing (Wolfpack v Pirates... probably not a good day for the 'Pack with all their injuries...).
Been hammering out the art for Asian Thunder all week. The US Stryker company will also be swap-able with the mis-printed on in Maneuver Warrior, so you can 'fix' your MW game...
We're also testing these scenarios with some planned changes coming up to the Warfighter rules. There will be some limitations on indirect fire, and "rules of engagement" being added to OPORDs to deal with civvies.
The Next Wars second playtest game is in progress now - taking up my side desk as we speak. It looks like we're going to cut down on the overall number of mission cards in the game, to give them some focus. We're also going to start working on the art for those soon, too. Counters appear to be pretty much done, as we've not yet encountered a case where we needed to radically overhaul the values on any of them. We have needed to swap some units in/out - gave the Russians a helicopter unit, f'rinstance, and took out a brigade of Americans to make space for some admin counters - but overall the counters hit pretty close to first cut.
Look for TNW1 to hit P500 around Christmas or so, if not sooner.
We've also balanced out the math to where most of our "P500" games will be much closer to "P250" or so, which ought to get them to market faster, as ong as youse guys stay interested.
