Status : Online | Why all this advertising in the General COMPUTER GAMING forum? The front page of the Wargamer is bad enough with all those banners and flash ads, please don't do it here as well.
Clear their desk, clear their house, clear everything they've got then tell them to clear out.

It's not advertising, and if you don't know about Crysis then I'm not going to be the guy who tells you what you're missing.
BTW, for anyone else - the full demo is out now. I'm 23% finished downloading from Gamershell. Can't wait to give it a whirl []

EDIT: server is way too full, making it slow (35k) for a 1.7gig transfer. Maybe later
Does it need DX10?

How could the demo come with dx10? I thought only Vista had dx10 inbuilt and no other Os was allowed to have it.

It runs in dx9 automatically if you run it in XP. It defaults to dx10 if you start it in Vista, but you can add a parameter to the .exe and it will run in dx9.

This game will finally push me to upgrade - 7600GT, 1gb ram, and Pentium D 920 can do low settings only, and the higher settings screenshots all over the web now are making me super envious.

Very nice but very boring quickly.
I like it, its smooth, its got some nifty features like the biosuite, but apart from that, just nothing special. Its farcry2, which was not a bad game.
Farcry always seemed to have such a small environment to play in.... unlike Armed Assault which I think is my favorite FPS these days
Oh and I should mention the COD4 demo, its a pleasure to play. Lots of fun. I love the feeling of the weapons, unlike most FPS games it feels like you can actually hit things at point blank, without emptying a whole mag.

I thought it would be a bunch of gimmicky puzzle based mini-levels designed around the suit, but the demo isn't like that at all. I agree that it does seem like FarCry2, but in my opinion, that's no bad thing. I thought Far Cry was one of the top-tier action FPS games out there. Much better than the linear COD4.

The cod1 and 2 were very good fun and the weapons always packed a satisfying punch.

What can you tell us about this game? I have my eye on it...

Status : Offline | Crysis Rocks. I played the demo yesterday - the only issue I had was with sound, which can probably be tweaked - some of the audio clips got cut short for some weird reason. Plays like an improved Far Cry. Looks like a real winner.
