We're going to go try to find Doomsday RP buried treasure for eBay.  Maybe a Warrior Cop 390th SMW guard got 'Cold War capped' covert in El Salvador/Nicaragua somewhere Colombia nd never made ir back to dig up his Day After The Bomb gear.  We're very Johnny come Lately, but Thomas needs some $$$geld$$$.          Livin' on the road my friend, is gonna keep you free and clean     And now you wear your skin like iron, and your breath is hard as kerosene     Weren't you mamma's only boy-oy, her favourite one it seems     She began to cry when you said, good-bye, sank to your dream     Poncho was a bandit boy, his horse was fast as polished steel     He wore his gun outside his pants, for all the honest world to feel     Poncho met his match, you know, on the deserts down in Mexico     Nobody heard his dyin' word, but that's the way it goes     All the Federales, they say     They could have had him any day     They only let him slip a-away     Out of kindness I suppose     Lefty he can't sing the blues, all night long like he used to     The dust that Poncho bit down south, ended up in Lefty's mouth     The day they lay poor Poncho low, Lefty split for Ohio     Where he got the bread to go, there ain't nobody knows     All the Federales they say-ay     We could have had him any day     We only let him slip a-away     Out of kindness I suppose     The poets tell how Poncho fe-ell, and Lefty's livin' in cheap hote-els     The desert's quiet, Cleveland's cold, and so the story ends we're told     Poncho needs your prayers, it's true, save a few for Lefty too     He only did what he had to do, and now he's growin' old     All the Federales, they say     We could have had him any day     They only let him go so-o long     Out of kindness I suppose     A few grey Federales, they say-ay-ay     We could have had him any day     We only let him go so-o long     Out of kindness I suppose

DA 1775... Why the hell are you spamming this thread?  I find it to be in extremely poor taste and particularly disrespectful to a very courageous young man and his equally courageous father.

I am NOT spamming Jarhead.  I've been on the ground at the old nuke silo real-time.  I used to help guard the silos with 8/40 Armor.  Today I corresponded with another Tank Commander who used to help guard the 390th Strategic Missile Wing Titan II's during the Cold War and began planning some road trips for some eBay AUCTION FUND RAISING ITEMS.  Is fund raising in bad taste, Leatherneck ?  I thought FUND RAISING was your MISSION.  Correct if you are just cheap talk...

Jarhead, thanks for the assist.           DA 1775,           Tomas has been fighting leukemia (blood cancer) for 2 years 5 months and 4 days as of today. His next milestone is 12 November when he will complete treatment. So far he has been doing okay, he knows 4 of his peers that have died from his type of cancer. Many members of this forum unofficially adopted him a while ago. They contributed hundreds of dollars in his name, bought him a train set and sent my wife and I to dinner.           Tomas has been conducting fund raisers for cancer research since a month after he was diagnosed, his drive is for better medicine for kids that will get cancer later on, he understands that there is nothing that can be done for his treatment. We have not received any financial assistance during his treatment, he has turned away gifts that he rated from LLS. This was due to his requests, he feels that financial assistance and or gifts would take away money for better drugs.             I intend on capturing these threads that occurred during his treatment and giving him copies when he gets older if he survives this battle.           I would appreciate it if you would delete your posts.

Easy, DA.  Sometimes even the best readers around here have trouble following your line of thought. Your empathy is appreciated, but I have to say I don't understand half of what you've written.  Perhaps shorter sentences directly to the point would be useful.  I'm sure that's all Jarhead was saying, but with a more decisive tone to it
Thanks.

Congrats to Tomas.  I haven't personally contributed to Tomas and his family.  But I have given money over the years to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society since my own mother lost a tough eight month battle with leukemia 15 years ago.  She only saw remission for a couple of weeks.  It was rough to watch her go through the painful chemotherapy treatments.

It was 15 years ago, but I know it doesn't get any easier. My condolences on your loss.

Ok, I can personally cure most types of cancer and have had cancer myself.  I cured topical cancer recently on a patient's head deep in the woods, praise G_d ! I use I.V. med grade ozone and nutrition and even burn things off LOL.  I have an aquaintance who is a  published nutrition expert and able to handle some types of cancer, also.  Cancer and illness is not FUNNY.  I have learned from first-hand experience that fighting cancer requires many disciplines and that there are NO panaceas.          Smuck-- ask Long Blade to delete my posts as I am unable to use this site well.  For example I may not begoin a topic and may only use quick reply.  I cannot send PM's either.  This computer is so battle damaged from international Online warfare that if it were an M60A-1 Passive/Rise F/T MBT-- BMO would ship it to Depot !         Long Blade, Good Sir-- draw steel and ban if it is prudent.  You've banned me before as Isaiah1SAS and research will reveal I'm a Hard Core Gung Ho Gold Brick and am NOT politically correct, but I always help the SICK.  I LOVE wargames and I have been hooked on them since the first time I played Army man as a child and wargaming with the Pentagon internationally just wet my apetite.  I wargame harder than the Pentagon LOL

I'm not going to ban you.  But I would ask that try to keep this thread focused on Tomas and his heroism. Punky, I'm sorry to hear of your loss.  My mom is battling cancer herself and I know how difficult it can be.

Wow. Thanks Jarhead.  No offense, but I didn't expect any condolences from you.            Great.  Now I almost feel guilty for those recent flame wars between us.  Not that we were having any sort of serious flame war.  It got to be quite comical, to be honest.            I guess you could say we were keeping our witty, insulting banter sharpened. [sm=duel.gif]           @Longblade:  I'm sorry to hear your mom is battling cancer. I hope she is keeping up the good fight.                            One of the saddest things about my mom's death was that she was only 50 years old and                            less than a year away from getting her Ph.D in Southwestern History.

Thanks Punky, this is what motivates Tomas, contributions to LLS for better medicine.           Keep your mother alive in your heart. Tomas will say a prayer for her tomorrow night.

You have no idea as to how disgusting that remark is.           It's that type of false hope that kills people. When your child or a loved one has cancer you grasp at any slim chance of a cure once you get past the reality of the situation.           The day after he was

Boy can I relate to that Schmuck! When Daniel was diagnosed with autism and we realized how severe it was, any promise of sucessful treatment would have emptied our bank account.... again

Once again, and I know its an easy mistake to make, but its SMUCK, not SCHMUCK... This difference, while small, has tremendous significance.

Smuck Good Sir, the MISSION objective you have outlined is to make the manifestation of ill-health Tomas suffers from treatable/cureable and the content of this topic appears to me to be about morale and esprit de corps fund raising as this is a benefit to Tomas.  That's beautiful.  I have some 390th SMW silo scap on my patio that may help and it's like fragments of the Berlin Wall or the Bridge at Remagen.  Skull book wrote here that he would meet-up with me and that will happen  G_d willing.  Tomas' quest for cure is a good mission.  As DA 1775 I cannot and have never chqrged body politic chattel for treatments and everything I know first-hand is available Online GRATIS or free and there is no panacea.  I pray Tomas accomplish his mission.  It is a world class quest.  I hope he adds to known  cures.

Or, you can just use his correct name which is Smuckatelli, or Smuck for short.  Calling him Schmuck is wrong and disrespectful.  It has nothing to do with incorrect interpretation.

]           Back on topic, I am amazed and heartened by the selfless efforts and dedication of kids like Tomas. I think that there is a lesson there for all of us adults who are older but certainly not wiser. Congratulations on your award Tomas!           @LB,     I am sorry to hear about your mom. Nice.  Soon enough he'll be earning those merit badges for Eagle Scout!
