So... if it is GOLD... why can't I buy and download it :-) Ah, maybe they are polishing the bytes... yes... can't just put a pack there with a link... first need to make sure all the bytes are nice and shiny... Hopefully this will be better than Cross of Iron, which was extremely disappointing.

That is something I cannot tell you.  Normally the online release is timed to coincide with the release of a physical copy.  Gold typically means that the code is sent to be burned and manuals printed.  I'd say you're waiting for the physical world to catch up with the digital.

Yes, Erik Rutin has made it clear that Matrix won't offer a digital download before the 'real thing' (for you tactile-obsessed folks) is available for physical shipment. I guess someone complained that it was not fair...

Wit Ye further, or how...?

QUOTE:Cross of Iron, which was extremely disappointing Oh, how so? it was a re-release of CCIII with a lot of extra content. people have played over 1300 games on just one of the on-line multiplayer MMCC3 servers last month. There are over a dozen full mods available to play and over 4GB of extra maps available to download. I thought it was a little beauty

Matrix isn't the only publisher to have this policy.  It's pretty standard.  Here's press release from this morning out of Warner Brothers indicating the exact same thing for F.E.A.R 2.  http://www.wargamer.com/news/5835/F.E.A.R-2-Retail-&-Digital-Download-Sale-Date-Will-Be-The-Same

Well, maybe I was a bit harsh as I never really liked CC3 compared to 4 and 5 anyway... and I can't remember all the things that were a problem with it, but here is an attempt... - I vaguely recall that the campaign was very linear... in that one side in every battle had overwhelming material... for example 9 various tanks against 3 small infantry squads... and then suddenly it would reverse... it never seemed to be balanced fights... they mostly seemed boring. - The AI as usual wasn't great... would mess around etc. - One map had a time limit to reach the remaining objective and a heavy bombardment (friendly) was triggered to arrive when your troops were there... it just didn't make sense. I just got the impression that it was loosely cobbled together and didn't have much play testing. However, I could be very wrong on that and maybe loads of people love it, and maybe it had a load of work put into it, so I don't want to upset any of the guys that did it, maybe it just wasn't for me (I never played it H2H either so my judgement was all from playing single player campaigns). CC5 was my favourite engine and the GJS mod was I thought the best of the mods I tried. CC5 had some blatant and quite horrendous bugs in it of course, clearly rushed out and then left, but still a great game, I played that against a buddy for probably two or three years on and off, full grand campaigns through.
