i just started to read the online manual. the game seems to differ more to the campaigns series than i thought, are there any player/tester made notes about the game on the net? i remember having lots of very useful pages printed out for toaw. or  are here any experienced players that would like to share their thoughts?

I am a relativley new HPS gamer.  I have a SB:WW, SB:AoTR, PzC:Budapest'45, M&P:Renaissance, and The First Blitzkrieg.  I like all these titles, but for some reason I like this engine the best.  I haven't tried the PBEM yet, but would be willing to give it a go and explore more of this engine in depth.  Perhaps even prepare some articles/analysis in the future.  I only know of these review articles: One good: [link=http://members.shaw.ca/gcsaunders/tfb.html]http://members.shaw.ca/gcsaunders/tfb.html[/link] One not so good: [link=http://military.discovery.com/randr/reviews/games/firstblitzkrieg.html]http://military.discovery.com/randr/reviews/games/firstblitzkrieg.html[/link] But the Military Channel does tend to show the same episodes over and over for its 2 cents of critiscm IMHO (Hitler's Bodyguard one more time fellas?!?) PS-Who is that in your avatar.  Can't quit place him, a young Franco?

i may have to rethink my opinion about this title. the french campaigns really hard so far. these frogs stop me already in the ardennes... so if you have any hints how you made it to dunkirk, let me know.

The main thing you need to do is isolate stacks. They die quick. Use your air for interdiction in the beginning not for attacking. Also build large stacks of artillery. This is key, and also a bit gamey, as you can bombard with these and cause LOTS of casaulities. You can whittle down big units with no loss to youself. Just make sure you only attack with the ranged units otherwise you will lose a lot of artillery assaulting. [
] When I first started playing this title I was very frustrated with my progress through the Ardennes too. It is really a slow go until you breach the line. I usually ended up breaching the river line at the North West corner of the forrest for some reason.  Once you do get through it really opens up as there are few quality reserves.

I do the roads. Movement in the forrest is just as hard for them as you. They will build a line somewhere but it's better if they build it near the edge of the woods as opposed to deep in the woods. If you can breakthrough in Belguim and France at around the same time then you can really bag a lot of troops. Don't forget to build those artillery stacks. You can make 3-4 huge ones and concentrate them to really weaken your opponent at the point of attack!
