I recently came across this title and it looks quite interesting. However, I see that the one and only patch, 1.0.1, was in 2006. Since most HPS titles have many updates I assume that this title is no longer active as far as further improvement. Perhaps the current version is so well polished that further improvement is not needed?     I would welcome any comments about this game pro or con.     Thanks.

If you find the subject interesting,I would say go for it. It's a typical HPS release, not overly glossy, but stable as in probably not in need of another patch.Fun to play from either side.Hopefully another title with this engine will come along.

I actually helped test this patch in its final form and the biggest thing it did was give the player the ability to Shift Click and Alt Click squadrons in the various spreadsheets when giving commands.           This was a huge improvement in playability in what imho is actually HPS's best game ever produced. Rock stable in version 1.0.           I play only as the Allies vs the German defense. Some have criticzed the game when played vs the Allies but this game gives extremely historical results.           I'd love to see a Battle of Britain version and the US daylight campaign released. Email HPS and pass your ideas onto the designer!

Jim said he will eventually do another title in the series, but time has been limited of late. One of the hazards of doing game design on the side of your real job.

I loved playing Defending the Reich and need to install it on my new laptop. I thought it was the best wargame of the year when it was released, and I'll recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in the period.

I really appreciate the info.     Adam Parker mentioned that some were critical of the game when played vs. the Allies so I am curious to know what they were unhappy about.      If I make a purchase, does the current game come as version 1.0.1, or will I have to download the patch (dialup only where I live).     Thanks again.

Hope you enjoy it...there's many more quality games where that came from.  [sm=00000106.gif]
