This is going to be one of the most played online games for me. I haven't played an online game in ages (meaning like since Ages of Empire). I can hardly wait. I used to play Sid Meiers Gettysburg a lot when it was new. I enjoy this engine much better.
A.I. production-it's more like, Okay, the games about ready--lets stick some A.I. in- you have 3 weeks.

Status : Online | I'm buying it as long as it doesn't have some stupid DRM or starforce copy protection. Come hell or high water this is one of those must buys upon release as it's the best wargame engine out there imho. I play 2nd Manassas a lot in just open play and nothing else feels as real as that game when it comes to real time. No clickfest, no resource gathering, no buildings to build no overpowered tiger tanks blowing everything off the map like they came out of an episode of battlestar galactica.
To be able to play this multiplayer is like a gift from the gaming gods. I hope it can be played at any level and not just army level command in multiplayer. It would be very kewl to be able to take a division and then have other players take divisions and then one supreme commander and a couple of corp commanders sending us messages where to go and what to do. Maybe I'm dreaming too much?
Plus it's kind of nice to be on the game side of buying games for a change. Lord knows there hasn't been anything good out for quite awhile now that I've been greatly interested in or that can hold my attention for more than one gaming session. Tropico 3 and then Gettysburg and hopefully World in Flames or Band of Heroes game will finally make a release date. I forget when Making History II is coming out is that this year or next? I'm getting that one also as I enjoyed the first one a lot.

Do any ram rods go down range, top-breaks explode, or individual soldiers break-ranks and run ? Can one hear Chamberlin give the 20th Maine orders to fix bayonets ? Are the Rebel yells authentic ?

Will it have ' What are the chances of this game having intrusive DRM? '
What is DRM to y'all and exactly how will it help you ? I believe holding the MAPS is the KEY to finding the treasure ! Keep a weather eye on yer maps, Mr. Christian !

The ONLY wargame I've ever played multiplayer is Close Combat, and only 2 or 3 matches.
That said, there CAN be exceptions, and a Gettysburg version of 2d Manassas with team play would be a very very very interesting exception that could be worth clearing out a Saturday for.
Yes, I would be honored to accept divisional command in such a game.

If this is the case then depending on the router each player would have to open specific ports? This was not that easy and we actually gave up on one of the golf games we used to play multiplayer. PBEM would be great.

Norb is the nicest guy you'll ever chat with online. He's been very polite and answered every one of my questions about the game personally at his own official forum. If only other forum admins and official publishers were so polite instead of calling their prospective customers idiots or trolls or even worse banning them because they are angry about a recently released game that doesn't work well and full of flaws and bugs.
