Davidssfx has created a sound mod for The Longest Day entitled OnGroundFX 2.0. Version 1.0 was added recently as well so make sure you download the latest version. He has added many new   sounds. Mortar sounds have been replaced. The 37/57/75/88/90mm guns all have   their own distinct sounds as well. Readme file included for a full list of changes. Mortar sounds were replaced with two types, large and medium/small. Each sound has a shell entering the tube sound combined with the firing sound. The grenade throwing sounds have also been replaced with the classic CC3, "ugh!" Many other sounds have been changed as well, look at the readme.txt file for full details. This mod is an auto installer. Once the install process is begun, just click through the default settings and allow an icon to be added on your desktop. To   uninstall go through your Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and select it. Download OnGroundFX 2.0.

Salhexe has upgraded his TLD vetmod of his as well. You will notice new weapon icons, removed mp44 and reduced German forces available to you on D-Day. Play this mod as Germans and follow Salhexe's instructions in the readme.txt file for best play. This mod is an auto installer, an icon will be placed on your desktop. Remove this mod through your Control Panel/Add Remove Programs. Download TLD_GermanVetMod_v2.0_installer.zip.

The Vietcong mod by DAK_Legion has been fixed. A few versions were released in the past under the same version number. The copy here now includes the four maps with their accompanying battles. Download CCMT_Vietcong_v1.0.zip. Unzip the .ccm plugin file to the /Matrix Games/Close Combat - Modern Tactics/plugins folder. Use CCMYSysCon to install.

All CoI MMCC3 servers have been down for the past couple of weeks. Schrecken reports it is only temporary and the servers should be back online soon.

DAK_Legion's pocket mod "Raid on Sola" is now available for download. The Sola airfield was the newest and most modern airfield in Norway 1940. It was   built in 1937 and was the only airfield in south-western Norway with concrete   runways. This airport represented a very valuable objective. The distance to Scapa Flow is only 500 km. This meant that Sola   could be used as a base for attacking the northern parts of Great Britain. Read   the full history at the Axis History Website. To install, download CC5_Raid_on_Sola_plugin.zip and unzip the plugin to your /Config Manager/Plugins/ folder. Run Config Manager and install.

The long lost Gold Juno Sword vetmods have recently been added here. Vetmods make playing vs the AI more challenging. Download CC5_GJS_v4.4_Vetmod_plugins.zip and unzip both plugins to the/Config Manager/Plugins folder. Run Config manager to install, the main GJS4.4 plugin must be pre installed. The GJSv44 Allied Vetmod is for playing as the Allies and GJSv44 German Vetmod is for playing as German. These vetmods will increase the strength of the opposite side you are playing.

Andima must still be working away at the Gallipoli mod. First made known here over three years ago, since then there has not been much news until recently. Andima uploaded an image of his latest map, the town of Buyuk Anafarta. Keep us updated!

Recently all of Mafi's tools have been upgraded. For the absolute latest versions of his tools, visit Mafi's homepage. The tools upgraded are, 5CC from 1.10 to 1.14, CC2Tools from 5.01 to 5.02, RTBTool from 2.24 to 2.31 and his newest tool, BED9 has been added.

The 1st Saturday of every month meet on Hamachi will recommence Saturday March 6th. The Hamachi Weekend Locator will restart on that date as well. The weekend meets have been very successful, there have been many new faces online almost every day. if you have not taken part in one of these events yet, refer to our main announcement in the forums.

The Close Combat Series server has recently been upgraded to allow double bandwidth. CCS can now transmit 3000Gb of traffic per month! For the first time since the sites creation in 2004 we have made all downloads available to the public, no registration required. The FTP server has also been made available, there you can access the entire database of Close Combat mods.

Your FTP server is ftp.closecombatseries.net, username ccmods and password is A6WChQddXMm5rpd7. Enjoy! Since opening up the downloads section traffic has increased by about 30%.
