Im just shy of 100 battles in it and its just not the same tank as it used to be. then again Im also getting a different level of matchmaking. new tanks in higher tiers ect.
I recall reguarly bouncing shots off it with an 88, even from the side, back in beta. Last night I jumped in a couple games, to see the new stuff, and happened into a shootout with one of those (and a couple of his buddies) in my Easy 8. And my 76 was penetrating pretty much every time, though it didn't do a lot of damage per shot to it of course. I'm guessing they eased off on some of the glancing shot bounces?

Need crew management tips.         Since I started playing, I have never had a crew reach 100% to gain special skills since I get new tanks pretty quick and dismiss them.  I got from Tier I to Tier 3 (Light, Medium, TD) in one week. Question is when do I start ramping up the crew.  And do you retrain them for other tanks?  Or do you only fully train the crew for tanks you intend to keep.

its been my habit to keep tanks for at least 100 battles.  in the lower tiers youre going to elite the tank by researching everything pretty quick.  that lets you dump all of the XP into the crew.  a side benefit it that you get to really learn the tank.  after getting them to 100% Ill just play in that tank until I hit the next 100 mark and then switch them to the tank I want them in.  youll get a lot of free XP to use and Ive used it to skip over some of the crappy stuff.  Ill then keep them in the new tank until the crew skill theyre running is at 100%.  that usually takes 200 to 300 battles.      if you start working up a crew keep them in the same class line as youll lose more XP when switching them from say, mediums to td's.     I always go for repair first then firefighting and lastly camo.

Thanks for the tips. I really love my Tier II light. In those battles there are no arty, heavies, and TD so I enjoy running circles around the newbies. It will be a keeper.

Hey Jomni, it really depends on how long you plan to keep the tank or that particular line ( light, med, TD etc). If you have the credits, its always a good idea to spring for the 75% training.  I have found that, as mentioned above, that they level up pretty quickly.  Once they get to 100% you can pick your specialization.  If you stay in the line , say light tanks for example, you can transfer them into a new light tank with the use of credits and retain some of their percentages.  ( if they are at 90% and you transfer them into another light tank, they will start at some amount above 75%).  If you transfer a light crew to a medium ( out of that line) you seem to lose that carryover.           As far as the specialization goes, that depends on your line and playstyle.  I usually start with camo, then repair, then fire. As I understand it, they will keep and use the specialization skill even if they go below 100% if you transfer them. As you get higher level tanks though, you may want to change this.

In addition to what Rostfrei posted, I suggest getting a crew to 100% and transferring them to the barracks before getting rid of the vehicle they are in. Buy the new vehicle without a crew and place the crew from the previous vehicle into it. Then retrain each member of the crew (be sure to have Current Vehicle selected). I just trained a 100% crew for a new tank in this manner and it ended up at 90% for the price of 20,000 credits normally charged per crew member for 75% crew training. It's more expensive than the free 50% crew training, but it makes the game so much more enjoyable.

I now see how they nerfed the 3002DB.   They moved it up a tier! Bleh. _______________________________________________________________________ I logged in a couple days ago, to check out all the new tech trees & stuff. I'd forgotten that I had the week of free premium still. So now I feel obligated to burn that off. They're tricksey!! Moved up a couple German lines (TD & heavy tank) a bit. God, the Pz38nA grind was terrible.. as bad (likely worse) as the A-20 grind. Glad that's over. Soon I'll have another bad grind through one I don't like for it's tier, the JpzIV. Ugh.

Is anyone else having big problems recently with high ping values?  It's getting to the point where it's unplayable for me - constantly jumping to 999ms.         Haven't had this before and it doesn't manifest itself in other MMO's that I play?

I've had a couple spikes lately, but not too often. I generally experience it if I'm on in the early morning hours. Which is to say during the period when the kids in Asia are on, and doing some extremely stupid things. So yeah, there's occasional warping due to a crappy spread of user latency I'm sure.

for those interested be warned.....  the Panther grind is a cast iron pain in the ass!!!!     stock, this tank pretty much blows more then Azz and you mostly get put into matches where that 75mm isnt doing much.  its frakin painful!     going back to an earlier post about crew training I should mention that Im using a new crew just to get by this tank.  I plan on using the elite crew from my DB to crew the P2 thats next on the list.  they'll also go on to crew the E-50.

Now you know why I tried to get everyone to grind their way up to the Panther II before patch 6.6 went live. I got a free Panther, Panther II, and E-50 by doing so.

I tried but I was to far into the TD line to pull it off.  it'll be a 100 battle tank.     its also the worse win/loss tank I have by far.... 33%   uggggg

I had to do a quick battle to test the 3002Db after the nerf comments. It seemed to do alright, still at tier VII. But yeah, it is kinda sensitive to what kind of opponents one gets.

the DB seems to be more dependant on what your team is.     looking at the stats I have for it, its actually doing very well.  its actually better then my Ferd in terms of win/loss at 58% and the hit % is about 74.  it just seems to feel different then what I remember.

The Tiger I is tough, depends on your match up usually.  But still the non sloped armor makes it tough even then sometimes.

there are many times when I try to get to a hill to slope my armour... but I am thinking that just turns the armoured front into shell traps..... like the freaking T-32 GLACIS/TURRET SHOULD BE DAMMIT!

The Tiger 2 is a bitch to play and level up. The long 88 does a great job penetrating but lacks damage output. The more damage you do the more exp and research points you get. After the painfull 9k it takes to get the tracks you are still left with 22k for the upgraded turret, 16k for a short 105 mm gun and 46k to get to the long 105. I lost money or broke even when I was on the winning side of a battle with the 88mm gun. I couldn't stand the thought of grinding through the 105 so I converted free exp to research it instantly!         I hate this game, it sucks up time and real money to get throught really painfull tanks.         just my 2 cents

Starfury, after hearing your thoughts on the 2000DB, do you suggest going for it or just going panther?
