Hey everyone, we have a new game for you that was just announced this morning! I'm excited to share with you Heroes of Graxia, a deck-building card game based on the Graxia universe and our upcoming Guardians of Graxia board game. Pre-orders for all of our board and card games are now available at our new game websites and stores: http://www.petroglyphgames.com/boardgames Check out Heroes of Graxia at: http://www.heroesofgraxia.com [image]http://images.boardgamegeek.com/images/pic739388_md.jpg[/image] More about Heroes of Graxia: Heroes of Graxia is a deck building game for 2-6 players that features dynamic gameplay using cards in a fantasy strategy-based environment. The game uses cards to represent forces on the gameplay table. Starting with a small deck of 12 cards, players build their empire by buying the best cards to prepare them to out-smart and out-maneuver other players to obtain trophies and prestige in the World of Graxia. The game will contain more than 240 unique cards at release, as well as miniatures. Buy for your deck the best Weapons, Armor, Spells, Armies, Henchmen, and Mercenary cards. Conqueor enemies by playing these cards on the gameplay table in a sequence of turns with other players. The fantasy world of Graxia is filled with mysteries designed for players to discover and solve. Why are there huge continents floating in the sky? Why is there such a wide variety of races living on each of these continents when travel between these lands is only accomplished through the use of Guardian created magical portals? Only selecting your favorite Guardian, exploring the world, and commanding your armies in battle, provides the answers to some of the Graxian mysteries. Heroes of Graxia is not a CCG. It is a deck building card game based on the Graxia universe and Guardians of Graxia board game published by Petroglyph. Gaining Prestige Points & End-game As Players defeat Units and Heroes of opposing Legions, they gain Prestige by taking the appropriate Prestige Point cards and placing them in their Loot Pile. These points are tallied the end of the game to determine the winner. Player’s may examine the Loot Pile of each other at any time.

Interesting. Will the game connect in any way with the Guardians of Graxia? Will there be a PC version of this game as well?

Hi Tpek, The two games connect via the lore and history of the Graxia world, and some of the card art is the same, but gameplay wise they are different. There will be a Guardians of Graxia PC version, but no Heroes of Graxia PC version at release.

Will there be any differences between the PC and Boardgame version of Guardians of Graxia? (apart from the medium) Such as will one have things the other doesn't? different mechanics? expansions only for one but not the other?

Well, by definition they are quite different just because of the platforms they are on. The PC version had to be tweaked from the board game components to work as a PC version. Though the core gameplay is still the same, more has been updated to make it different enough to enjoy, but it's not the same game. Speaking of the PC version, we're recording some gameplay footage for everyone as I type this!

Looks very interesting.

I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations - James Madison

so it's a deck-builder that comes with all the cards (a la Dominion) rather than a CCG where you go broke trying to collect them all?

Matthew -  I'm at Origins and doing my best to handle the coverage for The Wargamer.  I'll swing by some time Friday afternoon when I wrap up with my events at the War College and maybe you can give me the quick-and-dirty version [

Unfortunately, I'm not at Origins this year, though better yet, the designers for the games are! Just say hi and tell them I'm ready to share any news and previews you write after discussing with them the games, and of course any interviews! This is a wonderful opportunity to get the skinny on our board game development.

every time I tried to get neat the booth, there were 3-5 people talking with your staff about the game, or getting some sort of mini-demo. Not good for me; plenty good for y'all.
