OK - I'm hoping the enthusiasm of this year's Origins stays with me through next summer, and that the rest of BayonetGames is along for the ride []
Here's the plan we want to execute for 2011:
[ul]
We want to be back, in a booth, with at least 2 new wargames, and some RPG products. That's our minimum standard. If we can't manage that, it might be time to close up shop. Seriously. This has dragged on long enough.
At least 1 staffer in the War Room with a demo schedule for wargames... something simple, like Next Wars demos/tutorials at 1000, 1400, and 1900, and Warfighter demos at 0900, 1300, and 1700. Or something like that.
At least 1 RPG event each day - we've got some *really* talented DMs associated with the company, and a 2-hour RPG event should be no problem for them to run at least 1/day
At least one scheduled wargame tie-in to a lecture or seminar at the War College that will allow participants to talk about an event, and then play it out on the tabletop with us [/ul]
That's our minimum target. I've got a lot of great ideas for what to do above and beyond that, but at a minimum, that's what we're going to shoot for. That means we need to figure out a way to get a p500 up fast so we can get stuff to the print shop. That means coordinating with Origins and CABS *early* to get events scheduled, promoted, and on the calendar. It also means making sure our staff gets their butts in gear to have the time off to be there with me.
Too ambitious? Not enough? Am I nuts? Am I going to be pissed off by October and say 'hell, no!' and forget about it all? Am I not going to be cool enough to be a "real" wargame company a la Captain Contrarian? (see the Origins/War Room folder if you're wondering what I mean...)
