Not a stupid question at all.
The reason I do not want to do miniatures is two-fold.
1) the cost, approx, of 1/300 scale minis for land combat and aerial gaming for ww2 (this is trying to buy at least several pieces of everything....2x M4 shermans, 2x tiger 1, 2x etc, etc) would cost in the thousands of dollars.
2) time sink
Also, there are not many pre-painted options out there. There are some, but for me who wants a representation of everything used in WW2, there are not a lot of options (other than painting your own).
That's why I have to stick to PC games. I'd rather pay $300-400 for PC games than $5000 for minis
Think I'm going to buy Arsenal of Democracy and call it good. Once I'm done with that, then I might look at WiTP:AE
I'm going to have to stick with aerial miniature gaming as there are no real options for good aerial strat games on the market for the PC.

and all the varieties of vehicles and equipment that actually work in their intended roles. Combine games that have naval/air and ground combat a bit like silent hunter did with destroyer command.
ITs a game that I cannot ever see being made unless somebody like CA games takes it on and modders get to it.
The best your going to get for now is HOI3 or Highway to the Reich style games.

Medieval Real Time, Mount and Blade style Historical Combat.

I'd give my first born for a killer all encompassing WW2 stragtegy game that included all theatre's, countries and historical units.
OK. The only thing my game doesn't have is the historical units. All units in the game are generic types. We've got three levels: strategic, operational, tactical. We have three services: army, navy, air. We also have diplomacy, economic, espionage.
As for time and money: Free to play. The turns are 11 days (not counting weekends) which represent a game month.
We are under way and looking for players, particularly for the Allied side.
January 1940 and Europe is aflame.
Normally, folks download the base rules and get the other 8 manuals as players. For Wargamer Forum members, mention this offer in an email and I'll let you have the whole 9 manuals. I want you to join us!
