Hello all,
Just wondering if any of you know if HPS Aide de Camp is still being developed and/or supported? I have thought off and on about getting this to play old favorites that are now missing pieces or honestly...have no one to play with any more (Victory in the Pacific, Wooden Ships and Iron Men, Panzer Leader, etc.). Would like to give a PBEM of WSaIM a go. I would also like to try my hand and designing a PBEM wargame.
Seems like a very cool and solid product but seems that there are still cool things that could be done with it...as well as updating it to more modern standards.
I would also be interested to hear the experiences of any users with the current version.

ADC3 is in development, although release is not any time soon. ADC2 was coded in 1996-7 and has its roots in DOS, so no surprise it isn't very modern. No further patches for ADC2 are planned, although there are plenty of people who still use it. My website (HKL) gets a new module now and then to add to the hundreds available. I get about 1200 visits monthly. Admittedly there is a lot more interest in Cyberboard and especially VASSAL these days.
I haven't been able to get ADC 2 to load on a 64 bit system, be it XP, Vista or Win 7... so I wait patiently for ADC 3... with the assumption IT will run with a 64 bit system.
Copy the contents of the cd to your hard drive, to C:\ADC2\ for example. Apply the latest updates off the HPS site to that folder & then launch the exe from the \ADC2\Program Files folder and you *should* be up and running.

Thanks Rich and Nicholas!
Since there will be a ADC3 I feel more confident in getting ADC2.
Nicholas,
I was browsing your site last night...that is what prompted me to post this thread
