I usually have to call the cops to get chicks to leave my house, then they leave stuff so they can come back over. Seriously I hope you get back to feeling like your old self again. Relationships are confusing, because women expect you to know their needs without telling you, and then they let problems that you are unaware of, simmer and bother them till it is to late. So take comfort in knowing everyone fails in a relationships at least once. Learn from this, and become a better person then you were before.

Jarhead & Bushman, We had a thread about gaming and wives in the General Gaming forum about six months ago.  I was surprised to find out how many of you are divorced despite the fact that the numbers were consistent with the statistics generally published.  My last girl friend break must have been around 1980 and I've been married coming up on 30 years now.  So, I cannot say I really understand the experience of divorce. Still I am sad to hear of your troubles. Pain in life comes in many different forms of that I have experience.  Sometimes reflecting on the past and pondering the future can make the present a lot harder.  When things get too intense, forget about tomorrow and just focus an making it through the next 5 minutes.  Do that enough times and the Sun will come up again. Take care.

Semper Fi Marine.  I know how pride and ego are built into the honor of being called a Marine but I also know about crawling into a corner and just weeping openly.  I know about looking ahead and seeing emptyness and darkness and wondering how or why or if.  I know about saying goodbye to children and feeling their tears well up inside of me as tears begin to run down my boys small, precious cheeks.  I know about missing GOD and wondering if I matter.  I know, I do know that you wonder and you wonder how it will be fixed or how it ever can be again. Be strong, stay smart and take comfort, you are not alone.

e4, Bushman and Jarhead...I've had pain and heartbreak like what you've all described. Despite what you may be feeling now...it does eventually get better and it does make you stronger. Stay strong.

I'm glad my character uses a shield because I may be taking a bashing here soon.

Sorry guys; don'y let things get you down. Things like this should remind me and all other happily married men how lucky we are. I've been married for 35 years and tend to take Angela for granted.  That's bad and stupid.  The woman is a godsend. I'll go hug her now.

Good play of words Keunert.           @ JH, you probably haven't been through worse, but you have been through multiple bad experiences. Each one has made you stronger, don't let this pull you down and don't get mad at your Ex. Tomorrow is another day, you need to get on with your life, there are too many good things that you can do for people.           OT, Smuckette is doing okay with the Colt, she needs to work on her stance, she believes that the rifle is easier to shoot than the pistol.           So, all things being fair, Tomas & Anna want to start working with a pistol. Any recommendations on a 22LR pistol that they can operate?

Yes, everyone seems to agree that things will get better with time. I think you will know when you have overcome the pain, when you can look back have some amusing stories to tell.  I have amusing stories about open heart surgery and the ICU among other points in my life.  I can assure that I wasn't laughing at the time, but it is now looking back. Hang in there and one day you'll be able to find the humor in the current predicament, and on that day you will be healed.

Well right she is but pistol shooting is where it's at.  For just plinking and beginners I'd recommend the Ruger semi-auto with the bull barrel.  I've had mine for going on 35 years now and although there are some others that shoot rings around my pistol, like my father's High Standard, I won't ever let it go.  I understand the Ruger MkIII is even better.  I bet their .22 revolvers would be an even better investment in developing good pistol shooting skills.  Trigger control and sight alignment which is the reverse of rifle marksmanship.

It takes a wise man, Bismark, to really appreciate what he has.  Congrats and I'm sure your wife appreciates your insight ...or at least she does after the hug

Ruger 22/45 with a TacSol 4" barrel.  Light as a feather. [link]http://www.ruger.com/products/2245/index.html[/link] [image]http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/1124764/2120947/296826184.jpg[/image]

Same here, Bis...married 31 years this month, but almost lost it all four years ago because we were taking each other for granted.  Now we are in a great phase of life together, but kick my ass if I take her for granted again. JH, Godbless, brother.

I don't want to argue about it but I own the the Mk II which is more than similar to the Mk III and I looked at gun genie for the 22/45.  Maybe my eyes are gone so you tell me.     http://www.galleryofguns.com/genie/Default.aspx?item=10140&mfg=Ruger&mdl=All&cat=All&type=All&cal=22LR&fin=&sit=&zipcode=92107

Ok, I just noticed that although both the Mk III and the 22/45 seem to use the same barrel/upper receiver the lower receivers are different.  This photo seems to be the lower receiver of the Mk III.  What appear to be a safety behind the trigger on the 22/45 is not there in the photo.  The Mk III safety is higher and to the rear of the lower receiver.  You can compare the two on the link to Davidson's.

Its actually a little too much gun for Tomas. The barrel will cost you. A stock 10/45 will do. You may also want to look at the Browning Buckmark...Relatively affordable and ready to go out of the box. Can I say that is a cracking looking pistol. Had a look at the range on their website and any model there would make a young man very happy. If only in the UK.

That's one of the remarkable things about life. It's never so bad that it can't get worse. Then again quietly confident but what of? The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

High Standard makes some decent .22lr target pistols, as an alternative to the Browning or Ruger. http://www.highstandard...cts/weapons.html#pistols
