Trumpeter Salute 2011 will be occurring April 1st to 3rd at Bonsor Recreation Centre, 6550 Bonsor Ave, Burnaby, BC, Canada on the Vancouver/Burnaby border. Full information and links to forms for registering for the convention or hosting games are at:
This miniatures-oriented convention has been running since 1973 and attracts from 250 to 300 attendees. While the primary focus is on historical miniatures (land, air and naval) there are also fantasy miniatures, Warhammer 40K tournament, and board games (particularly railroad games).
The convention is hosted by the Trumpeter Tabletop Games Society. We meet once a month at Bonsor Centre for gaming, with game nights drawing from 50 to 70 people, and 10 to 12 hosted games. Details for the next gaming night are at www.trumpetersociety.com
I'll be there. I am hoping Rob B. will set up his Combat Commander session again as I missed it last year. I would really LOVE to see someone do a B-17 Queen of the Skies session, or something Age-of-Sail that doesn't involve pirates or Kraaken.
Just in case you are still checking this board...thanks for hosting a great game convention this past weekend.
I had time to play in one of Terry S's wildwest shoot-outs (Incident at Coffeyville) using modified Boothill rules. I loved playing boothill back in the day, and Terry did a great job of building a wildwest town. I think everyone enjoyed the game, except for those unlucky enough to play the hapless Dalton gang..
