Well, here I am again seaking help because my computer has decided to hickup! This time I cannot make a connection with another player in MSN Zone. Everything was working just fine until this last week when my son downloaded and installed the latest firmware for the Linksys cable/dsl router. Now, I can chat in the BoB game room and on MSN, but I am blocked from connecting for a game in either forums. Anyone have similar problems? If so, how have you solved them? Thanks for any help. Ps. Technical support from Linksys has not been helpful so far, unfortunately.

It has to do with the ports that need to be opened on your router. Your router (as do most of all the others) has a built in firewalll that is stopping you from making the connections you need. You need to find out which ports are used by the Zone and by Close Combat. I can't tell you off the top of my head what ports those are, but they need to be opened for the communication to occur. Another option you may have is to set your computer up through the Linksys router up as a DMZ computer. This option, if it is available to you, essentially turns off the firewall function of the router. You should be able to find out what ports need to be opened for the Zone, at the MSN website. Some other kind soul from within this forum will probably be able to give you the ports that need to be opened for Close Combat. Hope this helped at least a little....Good Luck.

If you are playing behind a firewall or proxy server, the ports 47624, and the range 2300-2400 must be open for both inbound and outbound TCP and UDP traffic. Taken from the CC4 readme
