I just downloaded the Greek Wars game from HPS- I like it quite a bit thus far, but there are some interface changes that could be included for ease of play- -Keep everything in one window (full screen-I lose info on the bottom toolbar in 1900x1200).  The pop-up unit info would be far better if included as part of the UI itself (in a side bar that can be set up for use on L,R, top, bottom screen), like in any of the John Tiller games. -Hot-keys don't seem to work for me for giving unit orders, creating lots of clicking.  The less clicks, the better. -Have phase announcements, sometimes it's unclear what's happening for a new player.  Also let the player know why orders aren't available from within the interface. -"Withdraw" order for good order units.  It would retain it's facing toward the enemy and retreat one or two hexes if it passes a morale check, etc.  If not, it would be disordered. -Another level of zoom in both 2D and 3D would be great, but that's further down on my list.  Sometimes it gets tough to see to select a given unit. Beyond that, the AI seems great, the game looks wonderful and it seems a really good simulation for ancient combat.  Thanks for making it.

In the lower left hand corner there are phase announcements. It's in the lower toolbar infobar thingy. Mine is usually covered by my Windows lower toolbar. It would be nice to have a better notification of the phases.   Withdrawing was really tricky, and something that helped the Romans become who they became. Perhaps a few more limits to it, and it would be good. If you mean engaged units, if you mean unengaged units pulling back but keeping up a bold front, then I agree.   Paul, and he'll correct me if I got it wrong, had deliberately shied away from copying the 'Tiller' look too much. I agree the interface is a bit clunky, but for his first effort he did great. I hope his future endeavors can simplify the interface. Hot keys not working is something to let HPS support know, and they'll try to figure  it out for you. The extra level of view has been repeatedly requested, and I think it is being looked into.      al
