Just read the press release on the front page. Sounds promising, at least on the surface.
I'm a little surprised Kalypso is doing a 4x game, though -- I thought the genre was a little outside their wheelhouse. Aren't they the ones who did Tropico 4?

Haemimont Games has done Tropico 3, Tropico 4 and First Templar. Kalypso hired them to make these games and got the licence for the game.
They did create a couple of studios (one with people from Ascaron and they have done Patricians IV and are working on Port Royal III now).
Kalypso is the head...but they're not actually doing any games. They hired very qualified and experienced teams which allows them to bring out many good games. Anyway...the game is a mix of turn-based and real-time strategy...will buy that one for sure....
Thanks Martok for the info (should i be thankfull? i am a junkie and you give me a new toy!)
Games i play now:
Armada 2526 Supernova, Commander: the Great War, Heroes of Annihilitated Empires, The Great Battles Collection
Good to hear they're doing Port Royale 3.
While the Patrician series was the base they started with, it just doesn't compare to the variety and setting of the 17th century Caribbean. Frankly, I'm surprised they still even bother making Patrician games about the Hanse and not just focusing on the Caribbean pirate age. Must be some serious demand for Hanseatic trade league gaming over there in Euroland.

Well I'm a 4x addict too, so I guess we'll just have to suffer together. []

I agree there's too little information, but I'm not prepared to be pessimistic just yet. (And I agree with Anguille that at least the screenies looked decent.) Much will depend on the learning curve, replayability, and the AI, I think.

Its really funny when you see them sput "forget your sins" in as a catch cry.
I am a big total war fan so this may be good.
It will be interesting to see if I can stand it after sins.
The other thing I do not like is the seemingly limited ship chassis. It seems the more weapons customisation you get in games the less ship classes you get. Its kind of pointless.
Medieval Real Time, Mount and Blade style Historical Combat.

Is it turn-based?
Details are hard to come by, but I think it's real-time with turn-based battles.
Ehm...it's turn-based with real-time battles...
Anguille is correct.
I'm starting to look forward to this one. Info on LoP was pretty thin at first, but the devs have since been releasing quite a few tidbits on the game...and I've liked most of what I've seen so far.
