In Belgium, the French 5th Army occupies the valley of the Sambre and Muese.

Belgian 4th Division pulls back from the area of Liege to the fortress at Namur.

The Belgians are still reporting two German Corps assaulting the fortress of Liege and German cavalry roaming eastern Belgium.

In Serbia, the Serbs have turned and struck back at the Austro-Hungarian armies.

Serb 2nd Army probes toward Priboj.  The 1st Army, throws AH 9th Corps back across the Kalubara River and 3rd Army still holds Belgrade.

In Russia, the Northwest Fronts, 1st Army crosses the Nieman and enters East Prussia on a broad front.

Landwehr Brigades and regular cavalry are obvious and at least one regualr Corps is lurking along the rail line ahead.

Further west in the Northwest Front, 2nd Army continues to concentrate but begins it's march north into East Prussia with scattered Landwehr Brigades and perhaps a regular Corps in opposition.

In the Russian Southwest Front, 4th Army begins to concentrate along the rail line protecting its Vistula flank.

Something is brewing to the south.  One AH Corps is advancing up the rail line and in the gap between 4th and 5th Army Szczebrzeszyn has fallen to unknown forces.

Further east in Southwest Front, 3rd Army sits waiting for mobilized Corps to arrive.

Southwest Fronts last Army, 8th is also crippled by the slow pace of mobilization.

Week Two;

In Serbia, Belgrade continues to hold against the hammering of Austro-Hungarian 2nd Army from both banks of the Danube River. 

AH 5th Army takes Valjevo on the upper Kalubara River.  The Ah 2nd and 5th Armys have closed up on the entire length of the Kalubara and crossed to form a large bridgehead near Budapest.

AH 6th Army continues its drive on Uzice.

The AH armies need Budapest to open a supply line to the Kalubara River valley.

Along the southern half of the Russian Front, AH Armies are on the offensive.

AH 1st and 2nd Armies emerge from the Tanew woods to face the Russian 4th and 5th Armies along the main railroad supplying the Russian Southwest Front.  To the west, the German Landwehr Corps and the AH Kummer Group move cautiously towards Warsaw.  In the east, AH 3rd Army and Kovess Group guard the right flank.

In East Prussia, things are starting to get dicey for the German 8th Army.  The slow Russian mobilization and approach marches have forced the 8th to sit and wait.  The 8th faces the Russian 1st Army along the East Prussian border while far to the rear in the west, Landwehr garrison troops face the approaching Russian 2nd Army.

Along the western front the WestHeer marks time waiting on the fall of Fortress Liege.  German 2nd Army has been hammering at the fort for a week. 

Russian 1st Army collides with the German 8th Army.  Russian intel had not uncovered the large concentration of the German units until it was too late and once committed Russian 1st Army attacks.

In mostly low odds combat the Germans hold, only the !st Cavalry division is forced back.

In Serbia, Belgrade holds under fierce pressure from AH 2nd Army attacking across the Danube and from south of the city.

A Serb counterattack south of the Danube drives back the AH 9th Corps protecting the Serb supply lines into Belgrade.

In the Lorraine, French 1st Army had driven into the Bavarian 6th Army front.  Desperate Bavarian counterattacks failed to close the gap and now French 1st and 2nd Armies have opened the wedge and caused two additional Bavarian Corps to retreat.

French attacks on the flanks of 6th and 7th Armies are not so successful.

However, the widening drive into Bavarian 6th Army is a major threat.

The French mobilization comes to completion with the arrival of reserve Corps regiments at the depots.  Additionally, the BEF arrives in France and begins the approach march to Belgium.

In the AH drive into the Russian Southwest Front, AH 1st Army drives back the Corps of Russian 4th Army.  To the right of AH 1st Army, AH 4th Army drives into the Russian 5th Army.  Further east, AH 3rd Army drives into and surprises Russian 3rd Army.

The initial contact is mainly a success to the AH armies.

In Serbia, the hammering of Belgrade by the Austro-Hungarian 2nd Army finally succeeds.

Belgrade falls.

Further south, AH 6th Army drives on Uzice in the face of heavy Serb resistance.

In the west, Liege withstands further hammering, upsetting the march schedule of the WestHeer.

The German Armies are primed to move but the bottleneck at Liege holds the German right wing in place, again.

In Lorraine, the Bavarian 6th Army right flank pulls back to anchor on the double forts of Metz and Thionville. 

In Alsace the German 7th Army drives to clear French Army of Alsace from Mulhouse and approaches Belfort.

Russian 2nd Army drives into the underbelly of East Prussia, crashing into the scattered Landwehr Garrison units left behind to guard German 8th Armys rear.
