Does anyone know what the difference is between Decisive Action and Point of Attack-2?

Interesting question as, for all the time I've spent perusing the HPS Sims site, I don't know as I ever noticed that they cover the same basic type and level of warfare.  Only noticeable difference from the website -- other than interface -- is that PoA2 was developed for the Air Force and DA for the Army.

I spent a long afternoon with DA at Origins this year and can tell you it's absolutely no joke.  I was impressed by what I saw -- impressed enough to purchase -- but was glad to have the great War College crew there running the sim while I made bad guesses (Intel) re: enemy intentions.

I'd be interested to hear official word on the differences as I have DA, but am a completionist at heart.

Best,

I have POA-2.  I have been thinking about DA but if it is basically the same game I will pass and get something else(Guadalacanal).  I like POA-2 although I have beaten the AI everytime I have played.  I would like to try MP to see how the game really does.

POA-2 is much more detailed, and can cover many different scales, where DA can not. POA-2 is a simulation for more than it is a "game", IMHO. It has game elements, but the details are extrodenary and while the AI can handle a lot of it for you, there's still a good bit you must do to operate effectively.
