Anyway, here are some useful documents regarding M60 vs. T62 combat for download.

It's a US Army tank gunnery manual during 1977. It also describes T62 gunnery in one section.
One question, the M60 should have a range finder. How do I work it if it is modeled in the game.

Though the theatre this game cover sholds no interest for me.

Like $10.
It's listed as having no DRM on it, so I may just jump in & try it out.

Has it actually been improved?
I remember people talking here about the devs not even knowing of the English version's release,
And how it was in doubt if the game will ever see a single patch.

I've not played any of their games before, so I'm also newly learning the wargame part of the system. While I'm getting a handle on that strategy side fairly easily, I'm gonna have to figure out the interface some more in how the two parts meld together, platoon commands while I'm in the platoon commander position, and other such interface details.
While the graphics don't look terribly good - especially inside the turret - I can see how this could all come together. Mixing the wargame with a sim is quite nice and gives it that extra somewhat open gameplay everyone loves.
I could get to enjoy it if I can spend enough time coming to terms with all the friggin' commands. Especially since it's not a WW2 setting.

There are no "Taliban" in the game...they are Mujahideen. And if you actually use tactics when playing, you shouldn't have too much difficulty defeating the more lightly armed enemy units.
As a side note, it constantly shocks me how otherwise educated people consistently discount the toughness, courage and resourcefulness of an enemy who has never known complete defeat, but who has defeated every Imperial power that ever tried to exert influence and control in their territory...take your pick. The greeks under Alexander, the British, the Russians and now the Americans, who will be gone soon too. Keep underestimating your enemy, and you will continue to lose...both in real life and in this game.

LoL.
Bear in mind I waited to get an answer from the people here about the game's future and stability, and thought it was going to be on sale for the rest of the week.
Plus, there is the time difference you know...

My first op has been the Iranians vs Iraq one. It starts at 2200. The NV on the M60 is only good for seeing some shrubs a short distance out in front of your tank. I'm surprised I've not been murderized yet, but I did take some track damage that temporarily immobilized me in the second 1-hour long tac engagement. Still, I'm moving forward and whippin' some Iraqis.
Just now getting used to the Commander interface and giving platoon/individual orders. I'm really enjoying the mix of sim and wargame. All the ones before were just annoying when having to issue orders to others but this one looks to give you two commands at once: both Company and Platoon level at the same time.
I'll definitely suck at shooting for awhile so Commander's seat for me, for a time.

Why not play for the Iraqis instead?
This way there will never be an Iranian bomb

Are you using you balistic computer (M-60)? It's quit accurate to around 1600-1800 meters.
Also get used to estimating range using the US crosshairs. There are tips in the links in my previous post: #27

I wanted to try out the M-60 first and most notably it was the first 'campaign' on the list with such.

Yes, I've figured out how to use the stereoscopic rangefinder in the M-60. My biggest problem, in my first campaign, is that it starts in the middle of the night. I can't see squat, even with night vision on. I've used the rangefinder on the enemy icon (as it goes 'out of focus' just the same, seemingly) and it seems to work okay. Although, as I've said, I've mostly only been in the commander seat and just giving targeting orders to my gunner who looks to be perfectly capable of ranging it himself.
Once I start a daylight campaign, or morning arrives in this one, I'll look at learning the gunner position some more.

One is the Core updater, which is an executable, and the other is some files that has to be activated in the game's own updater program.
Check this thread for some instructions and various links

After updating to the beta version, I've noticed a huge difference in the game and especially the scenarios. Don't run without these two betas.

I'm having problems, in the commander seat, designating targets for the gunner lately. I ctrl-click on the visible enemy target in the scope view and rarely get any targeting confirmation from the gunner, much less any action from him. Every once in awhile he'll cancel his current self-picked target but still won't engage mine.
It seemed easier to achieve in the previous version. But I'm defniitely not going back to that. I'll jump into the gunner's seat myself, first.
I probably spend the most time ordering all the units on the big map, anyway. If I get sucked into playing the sim as commander or gunner too much, my subords just sit around holding their position & I lose any command initiative I may have had. So I'd say it leans more command side, obviously.

http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3526361/SABOW_March_2012_update.html#Post3526361
Looks like it's just a Core game update in a self-extractor, so tell it to decompress to your root game install location and overwrite.
Edit: Note - you also need to use the game's Updater program, and select the Addonpack in your game's CORE folder, as before. Mine says v1.03 now.
