I have some quistions about the Matrix game War In the Pacific. 1. Gary Grigsby help create a board game called War In The Pacific for SPI back in 1986. It was a monstrous large and complex game. How similar is the Matrix game to the original SPI game.
2. How moddable is the game? I notice that on the games I have bought from Matrix game ( Distant Worlds, Armada 2526 ) have very limiting modding options. I would like to control the combat values of the unites and other values such as the Japan's industrial output.

I am not looking for modes I am looking to mode the game to my tast by changing values in the program foulder.
Given the game has a lot of mods for it I think it's safe to say the game is very modable. I'm not sure if it's "mod friendly" but it certainly has the ability to be heavily modded.
Can you give an example . Can you change the combat values of the ships and aircraft types? Or can you create more unites for the starting set-ups? I noticed that the Metrix game uses a editor which places severe constraints on other Matrix games I have played. I dont know if you have played Hearts of Iron II or Civilization 4, but in those games almost virtually everything can be altered.
