Status : Offline | I wish they would come up with something new but with that said, Rome was probably my favorite of the whole bunch - especially modded. I've lost faith in them to produce a good game after the frustrating Medieval 2 and craptastic Empire but Shogun restored my faith a little bit. Still likely wait till the bargain bin.

Hopefully they can keep some of the same gameplay quality from S2TW, and maybe even improve on it (Slowwww down the movement speeds dummies! ).

I lost faith in CA after Rome; it remains my least favorite game in the series. I then lost it even more (or yet again, depending on how you want to look at it) with Empire.
I strongly suspect I would really enjoy Shogun 2, but my experience with ETW has made me leary of the Steam requirement. (Yeah, I know I gotta get over it sometime...)

There's nothing more I enjoy than getting thrashed by the AI in S2TW. I just don't like that era or war period mainly because everybody has nearly the same gear and weapons. I certainly can't complain about the AI or how they made it to go after the human player as I've said time and time again that's what computer games of strategy and war should do. I hope it doesn't take too long to create.

I've played a bit of Europa Barbaroum, Norman Invasion, Viking Invasion II (awesome mod!) and Arthurian Total War. I still haven't gotten Shogun 2, but that's because *(sigh) I don't have a muscular gpu for my system yet. (still looking)
But I will be watching to see how this one comes out. This is great we have the Alea Jacta Est from AGEOD, Hegemony: Rome from Longbow and now this.
ROMA INVICTA!

Seriously, a little bit of the "Creative" in Creative Assembly would do the company well at this point. There are so many other eras they could build games for....

The official announcement is due on the 7th. It could still be victoria total war which a lot of people are hoping for.

Medieval Real Time, Mount and Blade style Historical Combat.

You know, the flagship cards of the corporation whose splashscreen flashes up when you start Shogun 2? The ones that the game is supposed to be optimized for?

I agree they could start mixing it up, even though I'm more than happy that they're doing this one.
The problem there is that they still haven't figured out how to get lines of musketmen to stand and fire and win by such attrition. NTW got a bit better but the AI still stinks. CA seems to have more problems with the later timeline settings that involve firearms.

The question is, can they make it interesting for TW vets. I only have 154 hours in S2 and that is propably less than a quarter of the second least played....
