Wonder if the idiots from CA will ever get around to fixing Shogun 2 so that owners of AMD 7800 and 7900 series cards can actually play the game? You know, the flagship cards of the corporation whose splashscreen flashes up when you start Shogun 2? The ones that the game is supposed to be optimized for?
As it turns out I am one of the unlucky customers with an AMD Card you just mentioned :-(

The art is excellent. Dirty and gritty.
The only thing that worries me is they only end up with a decent game when the focus is narrowed. Nepolean, Shogun--smaller focus on one landmass. Get to "Grand" as in Empire, Rome or Medevil and the A.I. takes a dump.

You just had to say that didn't you? You just had to go and ruin the expectation that RTW2 would be as great as SG2TW and NapoleonTW? You just HAD to do it didn't you? lol
If they implement the AI joins forces against the human player like SG2TW did, it won't be so bad. It mustn't follow history too closely is the main point. One thing Slitherine did with Spartan was to attack the human player with at least four factions at a time and this worked well with the difficulty settings of the game and Impossible was exactly that and very enjoyable to play. Unit types and general makeup of the armies is fine historically but if it follows the historical alliances and such then yes the AI will be pitiful and easily overrun like RTW1. Difficulty levels must be bolstered up this time around also where vh/vh is exactly that and the ai gets bonuses of troups and resources at those levels that far surpass the human player. So far except for SG2TW these difficulty levels have never been very difficult.
EDIT: Also who's the wise guy who's made the thread screen stretch accross from here to Africa? It's double the width it normally is and I have to use the slider scroll bar now to read posts here????
