Details of Steam's summer sale have supposedly leaked. I know I have too many games when every game of the list I either have or have no interest in.

Well, it says possible Steam Summer Sale. I hope it's not the sale because it's a very underwhelming list to me. I think Steam might have been asleep at the wheel this summer...

I agree. The current Amazon sale is much better than this reported sale.

Its dowloads only. Many of the games have to be redeemed and run through Steam, so check when you buy. The Sale started last week and a forum post here listed some of the games: http://www.wargamer.com/forums/posts.asp?t=583682

Here is the main Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_363858182_4?ie=UTF8&docId=1000812791&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=browse&pf_rd_r=1SKQT2ZDNMYJY32SM39J&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1379852602&pf_rd_i=979455011

And here is the link for the deal of the week (its a pretty good one to):  http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_363857802_2?ie=UTF8&docId=1000716161&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=right-2&pf_rd_r=0EZH2ZQ1TMT7FS9XEJC3&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1376185202&pf_rd_i=1000812791

Steam does have naval war, arctic circle right now for $5.00.  But I agree, if that is the sale it's a shame.  Amazon has had some great deals lately. Even panzer corps is on sale for 33% off. That's $20 for the download.

It's been that way for quite awhile for me. I haven't seen a marked down game I've wanted in months. So much is the same (WWII crap) or first person shooters that only the graphics change not the pew pew pew of them. Then of course the RTS games the ever clicky who's the fastest hand/wrist/eye cordinated person in the world type games that I loathe.

I'm looking forward to Guild Wars 2 and Rome 2 Total War and hope to god they don't muck it up like the first one. Playing a bit of Everquest Free 2 Play right now, but I'm starting to remember why I quit it. Too much go here, sit on your butt wait for someone to pull something kill it buff up rince and repeat doing the same mobs over n over for hours at a time all for this: you get better loot/equipment off of them to go fight higher and harder level mobs to get more better loot/equipment off of them to go fight higher level mobs to get more better loot equipment off of them to go fight.......you get the picture? lol And it's always about where you sit and for how long and how long you can take killing the same mobs over n over for the Everquest of get more better loot/equipment off of them to go fight higher level mobs..... I really shouldn't complain though it is "Free" this time around and I can walk away anytime I want to and that's the major thing with me and MMO's these days is not feeling I've lost any great deal of money by doing so. Just time and well time is cheap right?

Also, for those that are years behind us in gaming library collections these sales are great for them. I remember some of my first bargain bin days like when I got Medieval Total War origional version for $7 and that was when retail brick and mortar stores were all over the place. Then came Combat Mission Overloard for another $7 and I was drawn into the world of bargain bin hunting after that. Getting streamlined games anywhere from $4 to $19.99 was exciting an fun almost like a game itself. Now I have so many $5 games I don't have time or the want to play them all. For awhile I hated digital distribution because it was harder to get those bargain bin prices for awhile. But, now they have dropped prices on games like mad and within a few months on many of them. Just look at Paradox games? They drop in price so fast I don't know why we rush to buy them when new? lol I can on the majority of their games but I couldn't on Crusader Kings II. Matrixgames and Sliterine seem to be the last holdouts on "bargain bin prices" as they have games 10 years old they still want full retail price for. I managed to get a slew of their games from Poland for 1/2 price or less for awhile there when they were selling games to Poland for much cheaper than they sell to us. An example would be War in the Pacific was $35 and the dude even included free shipping. I got the complete General's Edition of Steel Panthers for $25 and free shipping. I always thought $60 was just too much for that old game. Ahhhh the great days of bargain bin hunting and buying.

I need to snag that!

[edit] Oh, crap! I bought it through Gamersgate so I guess I can't.

Is Heroes of Might and Magic VI worth $27?

Meh.

I'm gettin' the usual choke when trying to see what they have.

Sorry

The Steam Store is experiencing some heavy load right now. Please try again later.

If there's anything worth buying, let us know.  I think I own most everything which I want (or will bother to play anytime soon) that's been released at the moment, anyway.

I haven't listed everything, since pretty much everything is on sale there.  Defiinitely didn't list a lot of RTS and "Tower Defense" games in there, but maybe that'll help narrow down your manual searches (which seem to be disabled right now).

Oddly enough, I've only grabbed two pre-orders lately (with sale prices) - Torchlight 2 and The Political Machine 2012 (something new to try).

Picked up CK2 and Rise of Prussia finally.  Also had to jump at the Deus Ex: HR flash deal for 7.49.  I'm going to try to limit any other purchases though.  Too many games and they start to slip through the cracks.

Same here.  Don't want to go overboard & snap up a bunch of stuff I won't have time to play, but this was a no-brainer.

Couldn't help it.. I saw Gratuitous Space Battles: Complete on sale for $9.50!

I've been sitting on the fence for a couple-three years, waiting for the whole deal to hit a low-low price.  Looks like all that waiting paid off.

While there have been sales in the past, they never had the whole thing that included the Campaign expansion.

So far I got all of the CK2 DLC and also Fallout: New Vegas and the entire Shogun 2 collection (S2, FotS, and whatever else was up there).

Holy cow but that is a lot of gaming for less than 50 clams!

Sat around debating whether to get CKII for a long time and finally pulled the trigger today along with all of the DLC for the game. A great price!

So far I landed:

1) Mafia 2 + Jimmy's Vendetta

2) Saints Row: The Third

3) Shogun 2 + Rise of the Samauri

4) Crusader kings 2 + Sword of Islam

5) Binding of Isaac + Wrath of the Lamb

6) From Dust

7) Guardian of Light

Too many action games for my liking as I still have a bit of a backlog on them. I'm currently playing Bioshock. None of these were must haves for me. I was hoping Batman would win the vote over Saints Row.

Even though I have never stuck with a single Total War game for more than a partial campaign I decided to take the plunge at $10 for Shogun 2 + the expansion, based on all the love this one is getting. Same with Crusader Kings 2. I didn't like the demo, but with all the love I decided to take the plunge since it was so cheap. I didn't want to be obligated to review it so I never requested a review copy of it.
