Steam has Rebellion on sale now for $30 and Trinity for $5. I played the original Sins but none of the expansions.

I am wondering if Rebellion is worth the $25 difference or should I just go with Trinity?

For those that have both, is the AI much more improved with Rebellion and is the game more challenging? I want the most challenging game play.

Thanks.

I haven't spent much time on Rebellion, however I did spend hours and hours on Sins with each of the exp packs as they came out and to be able to get the Trinity for $5 is a great deal. If you like and enjoy it, know that Rebellion will be back on sale at Christmas time for probably $20.

I have Rebellion and it's worth the $25. The game still kicks my butt, but it's beautiful to play.

Rebellion. It looks a lot better and their are a tonne of improvements to the game all round.

I think you may even be able to turn titans off.

Medieval Real Time, Mount and Blade style Historical Combat.

I picked it up yesterday because of the sale. On the surface it doesn't seem much more content was added- however in practice the depth has changed conciderably with each faction splittering-each with it's own strengths and weaknesses as well as in terms of research, titans and other ships, planet types, etc. The new victory conditions also add some more options. Unlike games like Endless space where everything seems generic from one race to another, here each plays distinctively different and requires different strategies. It's still very RTS'ish, and basically the same-but the added features are probably worth $25. I wouldn't pay full price unless your new to the series.

Also note the downloaded galaxy forge is not compatable-you need to use the new one included with the download. Also your created maps will not show up if you put them in the old default folder-this time you need to go to my documents/my games/ironglad/sins of a solar Empire:rebellion/galaxyforge in order for them to show up. the interface was redone here as well.
