Sounds good. Is that part filled out enough to get an idea how detailed it will be?
Also- I can't get the game's home site to load. Must be down right now.

Well to be honest it's the first time I hear someone saying he was unimpressed with the alpha.
Personally I think the game has loads of potential and while it's obviously still work in progress, pretty much every time I saw this game mentioned on a forum or a blog I only read good things about it.
In Space Sector for instance (where I found out about the game) the opinions were all positive, some even very enthusiastic.

I have it. No it is not as polished as Endless Space was during it's alpha/beta. In fact it's rough, but Star Lords is holding my attention much longer than Endless Space did. Star Lords combat is pretty much just like MOOs combat. Endless Space combat IMO sucks in it's current form.

Star Lords certainly sounds good on paper, although I do have concerns about the fleet limits (apparently there's a hard cap of 18 ships per) and battles. Still, I think it's definitely one to watch.

Just please tell me that turns take place simultaneously! I can't stand the "the army/fleet that gets to move first wins" combat model found in some games.

Nope just regular turns. I haven't played combat enough to see if it matters who moves first would have any effect on the outcome. The little combat I have played it took several turns just to get in range of firing. That is just with the basic fighter. Hopefully I can get some play time in tonight and see how the bigger ships work. The latest patch fixed alot of bugs, so it's looking very promising.

While comments (in their forums) made by both devs and beta-testers alike indicate that good progress is being made, it sounds like the game is still very much in an alpha state right now.
To be fair, Neogen2 Creations has stated they won't release the game until it's ready, and that they'll wait til next year to release it if necessary, which gives me hope. Still, after the release debacles of SotS2 and now LoP, it's difficult to not be a little leary at this point.
