'2016 -- Obama's America' -- why is the media so afraid of this movie? by Gerald R. Molen ... This effort to de-legitimize the film is nothing less than “high-tech censorship,” since the first attack was trying to impugn the motives of the filmmakers and questioning how the project was funded and by whom, all in an attempt to dissuade people from watching it.
I don’t remember anyone in the mainstream press questioning Michael Moore about his motives (he wore them on his sleeve) or where the funding came from (deep pockets of those sharing his ideology). No questions asked….
The American way has always been to present ideas and new opinions, then through reason, logic, debate and even personalities, continue to expose as many points of view as possible. It makes the country a better one and stronger one for all of us.
...Gerald R. Molen is the Academy award winning producer of films such as "Schindler's List," "Jurassic Park," "Minority Report" and others. His film "2016: Obama's America" will be released in theaters on August 10 and 17.
Generally I stay away from films with any kind of overt agenda (I go to the movies to relax after all) but agree it's pretty silly to critisize a movie without even seeing it! The author runs the risk of seeming a bit overly sensitive though as I'm sure there were plenty of people who didn't like his regular movies either. So why bother taking an article out at all?
Actually, looking at the date, this seems to be old news anyway. Never even knew the movie was out.

Just let me guess.
The people who do not like the President will attend in droves and proclaim it a masterpiece.
The President's supporters will hate it and not bother to attend.
... (useless chatter)
Tha't probably correct; I sure didn't go see any Michael Moore films. And yet at the very least the film's success bodes well for a Romney turnout; remember Bush's victory over Kerry was all about turnout, ---- maybe secure some undecided. Those Obama supporters who are brave enough to attend may actually contribute to some errosion of support. We'll see!

If you feel the need to quote me please do not edit my words to suit your political agenda.
It is a reprehensible practice but I know where you learned it and you cannot help yourself.
Edit? Do you suggest that your original statement was actually changed and done so without affirmation? Was your original statement made to be completely unknown to readers? If that's your complaint, then take it up with the moderator. Don't think you can give me commands especially from afar.

I'll try! But seriously, if your rhetoric is predesigned to yield a reaction must you also claim dictate over the form of that reaction? I think you're expecting a bit much.

How much money is wasted by both sides on the over-blown process of arriving at an election?
Everyone involved in the whole political process should hang their heads in shame!
The fault lies within ourselves; the politicians only react to us. If we paid attention the entire 4 years (if we only had both the time and the desire) rather than the last couple of months before the election, we'd not be exposed to such a spectacle. You might even want to be thankful if you don't live in a battleground state; my condolences if you do.

I live well out of the influence of either party, although I have my own demons to live with.
Democracy is supposed to be the greatest form of government invented. Maybe it is! The problem I see is that the current form of democracy does not appear to have much to do with the original idea of voting for a local person who can take local issues with him.
Now it's vote A or B. We don't care about your local backwater, but we do want your vote, so we'll say whatever we think you want to hear just to get it. After that, you're on your own.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I don't think so and I don't think the Founders did either. That's why they bequeathed us a Republic. Think tyranny of the majority. As to 'it's vote A or B. I think Clint Eastwood put it best. If the guy is not doing the job, you have to let him go.
