Can someone help me? I'm new and was looking for a fun war game. I my first game in turn based style was Advance Wars for GBA and I really love that game. I'm looking for something not TOO difficult in the WW2-present era. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Strategic Command may be right up your alley. www.battlefront.com

Metal Viper one other option that is lightweight low complexity and nice on the wallet is any of the Panzer General series of game. I would suggest looking up CDAccess.com as they have most of them in some manner or other. Low learning curve and low complexity. I will also second Strategic Command. Low price, and easy learning curve, with a low complexity level. There are oodles of wargames out there, but as fun as a lot are to us old wargamers, some are either not intially simple to the new to wargaming player, or they have a reasonable intial cost in some cases. If you get brave though, look into either Steel Panthers from Matrix Games, or Steel Panthers from SP Cammo. Very fun games, and they are free (so if it's not your cup of tea, at least your wallet is hapy still
).
I have lived the world's dogma, that's why I know it's worthless.
