1. There's a board game group that meets at the Borders at Six Forks and Strickland every Wednesday night a 630pm. Not a wargame-heavy crowd, but you can often get a game of SmallWorld or Manouevre or something similar. I usually have Bayonet Jr in tow, so we usually play one of the Carcassonnes.

2. You mentioned the Wargaming linkup here in the Triangle on 1 November. We're also looking at getting together another mass-playtesting session for some BayonetGames stuff one night. PM me your contact info and we'll see what we can work out.
I was lucky enough to meet Mark (picked up Band of Heroes) and participate in the World at War game mentioned above. Mark is a class act. Very friendly and gracious. He did an excellent job running the game and I had a blast, even though we lost.

BTW, Brant, my name is Jamey Cribbs. I just moved to Raleigh 2 weeks ago and attending Southern Front has stoked my desire to get back into board wargaming after not having played since I was a teenager. I signed up at Consimworld, because I want to rsvp for your next wargaming event in November, but I am still waiting for Consimworld to approve my sign up request.

Hopefully, I will get approved soon, but if not, please let me know of any gaming sessions coming up, as I am really interested in getting back into the board wargaming world.

Thanks.
The event runs until Midnight on Friday with two general game timespans, afternoon and evening. Games are marked FA and FE respectively. We then open the doors again at 9AM on the Saturday morning. Games on saturday fall into any one of three generalized time-slots, Morning, Afternoon and Evening, labeled SM, SA and SE respectively. The sunday games are usually all grouped together into one category, running anywhere from 9AM through to the end of the event at 5PM. We tend to run roughly twelve 6' x 12' tables in the gaming area. We mark the game information on a huge cork bulletin board in the corner with the table assignments and game information clearly marked. Make sure and tap the game scheduler on the shoulder to ask any questions or notify him of movements or cancellations. We can usually attend to all of your needs with room to spare. Every year it amazes us how many different types of genres and scales are run. We have a very good spread of representative GMs, both local and from other areas, including out of state, that regularly attend the event. You are guaranteed to find something you will enjoy!
Vendors Galore :
Our dealer participation is excellent ! This is because the event is very dealer friendly. We pride ourselves in keeping the dealers right in the periphery of the gaming area, as close to the action as possible, thus bringing buyers to their tablesides while giving them the elbow room they need to operate. We usually have representation from Outland of Pennsylvania, Miniatures of the Chesapeake, Battlefield Terrain Concepts, Tiger Miniatures, The Quartermaster and other dealers from out of state. Local shops also attend, such as The Game Connection and Area 51. Also, Chris Hughes, our local sculptor and miniature artiste extra-ordinaire, runs a dealer table for his locally made and operated business, Sash and Saber miniatures. Of note, he also sculpts for Old Glory minis. Chris' attention to detail and emotion in his miniatures sets them apart from the rest. They are truly works of art. Visit his website for more information, www.sashandsaber.com .
Location, Location, Location :
The TSS convention is run at the North Raleigh Hilton. This facility is located about 2 blocks off the Raleigh Beltline, AKA I 440 (part of the I 40 network), on Wake Forest Road. The hotel is located within a half-block of a Bahama Breeze, and within a block and a half of a Denny's. The hotel has two dining areas, one for breakfast and the other a full-service sports bar and restaurant. The latter is open until 2 AM for your quaffing pleasure ! We hope you enjoy your stay in Raleigh while attending the event.
