I was stationed in Monterrey during 1981 (I learned German at DLI) and we would buy a beer called Henry Weinhart (not sure on the spelling). It was my first taste of micro beer and it was quite tasty. Is it still available? It brings back some fond memories of California.

Evolutionary defense LOL ! That almost looks like a baby Rhino or the pig I disected in second grade elementary school with round nosed paper scissiors (that was hard)! My public school second grade school teacher brought us still-born piglet show and tell-- they don't make 'em like that anymore. This picture of a piglet is making me hungry. I'll soon be getting some smoked pig-- roasted in the ground ! Mmm...haven't had any that way since the 70's ! A Yugoslavian migrant worker used to cook them in the forest of the Fuld Gap-- Warsaw Pact probably thought he was sending smoke signals. Pig and Iron Curtain, oh boy ! He used to keep the brain in a pot and his wife kept the blood in the bath tub for making something. I didn't eat any. Blutwurst ! Man, I'm going to go check my bath tub. Memories. I think I may need a beer. I know pig is 'kosher-unclean', probably ate Jimmy Hoffa, causes undigested food particles to bounce through the circulatory system, but it sure does taste good ! Windigo ? Did you eat that little pig in a meat pie ?

A good beer for wargaming is of course Hobgoblin. I chased it with a Kulmbacher, a very different flavor. Ive been on a kimchi kick. Some of the healthiest foods are supost to be olive oil, kimchi, probiotic yogurt. I didnt really like kimchi at first. Now I sometimes crave it. Im desperate for good short bread. I dont have any. :-(

There is a great RPG. You have to uncover the whole map. You gain health (calories) at every stop. Visit 'Ale Trail' pubs in either Oxford or Henley before the end of the year and get a free t-shirt along the way and a free pint if you stay the course! A great excuse to discover great Brakspear beers in splendid pubs while touring beautiful Henley or Oxford. Pick up an Ale Trail map at any participating pub for full details: - Henley - The Rose & Crown, The Angel on the Bridge, The Little Angel, The Anchor, The Three Horseshoes, The Queens Head, The Old Bell, The Saracens Head.
- Oxford - White Horse, Eagle & Child, The Red Lion, Hobgoblin, St Aldgates Tavern, Chequers, The Crown, Turl Bar, Four Candles, Royal Oak, Chester Arms, Radcliffe Arms, White House, Wheatsheaf, Honeypot, Duke's Cut, Cape of Good Hope, Jericho Tavern, Far From the Madding Crowd.

Weinachten Brau-- Der Schwarze u. Ansbacher ! Recipe: One case Weinachten Brau-- Der Schwarze One bottle Ansbach brandy One box mixed chocolates Six sweet potatoes Deepy Fry oil Slice sweet potatoes and deep fry as one would fry French Fry potatoes. Serve with butter, salt. Top with one's choice of honey, Ranch, or other favorite topping. The beer and Ansbacher is critical for good cooking. Carefully pour Ansbacher into shot glasses and serve neat alongside Der Scwarze Weinachten Brau. Chocolates optional-- serve near-melting upon a warmed tray alonside the Ansbcaher brandy. After three or four shots and several dark beers poetry recitation may be in order: Life is the Joy of your Journey Brightly colored tinkling lights Diamond dust, starlit winter nights Young to old and old to young Newfound Joy in your journey barely begun Life is the Joy of your Journey Brightly colored tinkling lights Diamond dust, starlit winter nights Alone with G_d, with family, together as one Newfound Joy in your journey barely begun Life is the Joy of your Journey Brightly colored tinkling lights Diamond dust, starlit winter nights Deck the Halls with Christ's Truth and fun Newfound Joy in your journey barely begun Life is the Joy of your Journey Merry Christmas, one and all. Rent a Tram, get a keg of a local brew and spend the evening driving around Prague. An outstanding method to conduct a pub crawl.
