I'm seeing that on the news now.  Sad news.  My thoughts and prayers seem to be busy today.

These kinds of stories just depress me. WTF is wrong with people...
Just remember kids, when you need something wholesome and innocent like Sesame Street twisted into something sick and perverted - I'm just a phone call away.

It appears to be a work related terrorist event. ID'd the guy as Jason Rodriguez...still trying to find him.

On some days, evil is around every corner.

Another tragedy and pointless deaths of innocent people, another black page in the history of mankind.

Good thing he isn't a Muslim, otherwise people might jump to the conclusion it was a "terrorist" act.

Really people, this is pretty messed up.

A criminal AND terrorist nutcase kills and injures dozens of people in Ft. Hood and suddenly we have to start flaming eachother for days?

critter, as you're pretty new here, I suggest you back the hell off and try to respect some of the people here, instead of moving to an area where you don't want to go. If you want to talk about how people are unfair against Jarhead in a heated discussion, go to R&P, but get the hell out of this thread.

Punky: don't feed the trolls.

Carrying the kool aid eh lad? I was posting on here 2 years before you.
This thread isn't about Ft. Hood....Duh..
Jarhead defended himself quite well. I just pointed out that Schwerpunckt shouldn't be firing shots across the bow of those of us that also believe the way he did.
I don't need suggestions about where to go from you.
I heard this was a war game site.. Not liberals "R" us.. If we're gonna move on ..It should apply to all of us.

Re:Shooting in Orlando - Saturday, November 07, 2009 5:40 AM ( #18 )
You have 46 posts for all those years.

As you've been here for all those years (but didn't actually participate in anything meaningful in the general forums it seems), you might recall that wargaming is but a fraction of what this forum is about, considering the many different kinds of sub-forums.

Jarhead is a dedicated patriot and due to his views on past events and his own religion, has an understandable hatred for Muslim terrorism, and/or anything he views as such.

The above combined with his temper means that when he starts his engines in a thread concerning a terrorist attack by a Muslim, regardless of whether they are religiously inspired or not, he ain't going to stop until he runs into R&P (and presumably keeps going there regardless, but I don't venture into R&P often). Even though Jarhead is now employed as a civilian, the US armed forces, particularly the USMC, is still family to him.

So if a Muslim man, shouting "Allahu Akbar", kills and wounds US troops and possibly civilians working with the armed forces on US soil, that understandably makes him mad as hell. If Jarhead is mad as hell, you don't want to be in the same room, or the same thread.

The reason why Jarhead went a bit too far in my opinion, is because he vented all of his anger outside of R&P. I don't really mind what he says or thinks, as long as he does it outside of the general forums and doesn't beat anybody who remotely disagrees with him in the general forums.

The thread about Ft. Hood, which should have been about sharing our thoughts about how awful and cowardly the attack was, and about paying respects to the dead and the wounded, turned into an all out flame war, which is why LongBlade eventually locked it. Current Events, or General Discussion, are not for venting, so if you want to take your trollish remarks and your quarrel with Punky to R&P, we'd all be most obliged.

I got 49 posts now. And I come here for game news and answers to game questions I have. If you check you'll find its true
So your 4000 posts mean you're part of the war gamer staff? Or that they give a damn what you say?  Big deal..  And bye the way...I never called anyone a name or asked them to leave.

The Fort Hood thread was started by Jarhead.  How do you know what it was about, or what he had to say?
You don't do well when you can't open a book and act superior do you?

for president!

Critter, we ask that people try to get along.  I dare say that few of us agree on much around here, but we do our best to treat each other with courtesy.

You won't get banned for not agreeing with people, but you will get banned if you are looking to fight instead of get along.
