Victoria II: A House Divided Video Interview and Developer Diary Released
First expansion to grand strategy set to release on January 24.
Paradox Interactive released today two sets of information for their upcoming expansion to the internally-developed grand strategy game Victoria II, titled A House Dvided. Paradox Interactive has set the release date for January 24, 2012.
The announcement contains a developer diary and a video interview, both narrated by Victoria II's Executive Producer Johan Andersson. The developer diary goes into detail how revolutions and political movements work in A House Divided. To watch the developer diary, click here.
The video interview has Johan explaining how the expansion brings an added amount of depth to the economics system, as well as a host of other new features, all which have been requested by players. The new set of features of A House Divided expansion are:
- New starting point in 1861 allowing players to experience the US Civil War from the start
- Manufacture reasons to go to war with other countries, all in the quest for power
- Civilize your country with various new reform paths to ultimately become equal with European nations
- Invest in building infrastructure and factories in other countries to strengthen their ties to you
- Deeper political system with new national focus options and new types of reforms
- New system of popular movements that can be appeased or suppressed, but if ignored will become the revolutionaries of tomorrow
- Improved interface with more information easily available to improve the gameplay
