World of Tanks Update Announced
New gameplay features and new maps announced.
Wargaming.net, publisher and developer of the critically-acclaimed free-to-play tank MMO World of Tanks, announced today the upcoming release of the 7.2 update. The update will be brining new gameplay features and new maps, as well as adding new crew skills to master.
The new maps are set in two different areas, the first being Live Oaks, a North American setting and Campania, which is set in traditional Italian landscapes. Additional changes will see substitutions of top American heavy tanks, such as the T-34 (tier IX) and T-30 (tier X) will be replaced by the M-103 and T-110 respectively, with the aim of rounding out top-tier gameplay. The update will also bring US tank destroyers with rotating turrets.
A major change will be an updated set of crew skills, which will add more than 20 new skills to master. Each crew member will have their own personal set of skills, which will in turn provide enhancements to the tank and its performance.
For new players, an integrated tutorial will be available to introduce all the gameplay features and help ease new players into the game's learning curve.
"We are always happy to introduce new features and game content to our community," said World of Tanks Lead game designer Mike Zhivets. "Many more new exciting features are on their way and will be introduced in the nearest updates."
