Available now for Mac OS X Snowleopard and Lion.

PRESS RELEASE posted on 17 APR 2012 6:29pm by Scott Parrino

Battlefront.com (www.battlefront.com) announced today that their critically-acclaimed World War II ground combat strategy game Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy has reached Apple's AppStore for the Mac OS X Snowleopard and Lion systems. The AppStore version is identically to the one released on Battlefront.com, and includes the latest v1.10 updates and improvements.

Future patches to this version will only be available through the AppStore updates, as the Battlefront.com patches are NOT compatible with the AppStore version. The Commonwealth Forces module is also currently NOT compatible with the AppStore version of the game, but an AppStore version will be released in the near future.

The release of Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy follows on the heels of Battlefront.com's recent release of Combat Mission Touch for the iPad, making an increase of focus on the Mac OS and the iOS market by the company. Battlefront.com plans on releasing Combat Mission: Shock Force on the AppStore in the near future.

About Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy

Combat Mission - Battle for Normandy (CM:BN) faithfully recreates the experience of tactical land warfare in Western France during World War Two. Using the unique Turn-Based (WeGo)/Real-Time hybrid game system of the proprietary CMx2 battle engine, the first installment in this new series covers the three months after the Allied D-Day landings in Normandy in June 1944, from Operation Overlord in June through the Cobra Breakout in August.

At the player's fingertips are a large array of carefully researched US and German Army formations, equipment, and vehicles (click here for a preliminary Table of Organization & Equipment) in what is probably the most versatile, genuine and powerful battlefield simulation to date.
