Pre-order coupons now available for Death Ride Kursk - Totenkopf, Leibstandardt, and Das Reich
Grognard Simulations shifts its focus to the IInd SS Panzer Korps, offering pre-orders for their upcoming expansions.
Grognard Simulations is now allowing pre-orders for Death Ride Kursk - Totenkopf, Leibstandardt, and Das Reich. Totenkopf will be the first game of this series, kicking-off the new focus towards the three divisions of the IInd SS Panzer Korps, rather than the XLVII Panzer Korps. Leibstandardt and Das Reich will follow.
Totenkopf’s battle from July 9th and spearheading the drive north of the Psel River makes for an interesting situation. This division must make their bridgehead and then gather enough combat power in it to punch through the still-thick crust there to cover the left flank of Leibstandardt and its push to Prokorovka. Leibstandardt’s attack up the main road toward Prokorovka attracts the most Soviet attention and provides the most tank-vs-tank action as the Soviet counter-attack with 5th Tank Army hits squarely here. Das Reich’s battle along the extended flank is what helps to protect the right flank of the IInd SS Panzer Korps and reach out to the III Panzer Korps coming up from the south. Das Reich was never able to help Leibstandardt fully, since it was always busy fighting off the forces of Group Trufanov. Here are some samples of the SS Totenkopf units and what you have to look forward to.
The game system follows the same Death Ride Kursk system you are already familiar with and models secondary and primary weapons, ranged combat, different effects vs target types, obstacles, opportunity fire, overwatch, and much, much more. The current release schedule has them ready sometime in 2014.
