Couldn't escape if I wanted to: Matrix brings Scourge of War: Waterloo to Steam

If you didn't pick up Matrix Games' critically acclaimed Scourge of War: Waterloo earlier, now might be the time. Matrix has just released the game on Steam for PC, and are offering 10% off during the Steam launch. That means you can now download Waterloo from Steam or Matrix for $45.

Scourge of War: Waterloo is a real-time game that is focused solely on it's titular battle. The Scourge of War system simulates the entire chain of command, putting you somewhere in the middle of that chain. You'll receive orders from your superiors, and then send couriers carrying your orders to the units under your control. The game has 20 scenarios from the French, Prussian, and British point of views as well as user generated sandbox scenarios and a sandbox campaign. That's the solo game. There is also multiplayer for up to 14 players in three different scenarios.

If that's not enough for you, take a look at the screenshots or trailer. This game looks incredible. SoW: Waterloo used 3D terrain, but the units are 2D sprites, which allows for some massive armies on screen.

There's more: weather effects, smoke effects, a random play mode, modding support with a moddable AI. I could go on but, seriously, isn't that enough?

Take a look at the trailer and then head over to Steam or Matrix to check it out.
