Watch 18 Minutes of Grand Tactician: The Civil War’s Campaign

As much as I’m still devastated that developer Oliver Keppelmüller decided to go down the ACW-route instead of something fun and European like the Napoleonic Wars, I’m still genuinely interested in his upcoming real-time war game Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861-1865).

We’ve only really had snippets so far - a trailer here, some screenshots there… current estimates put the release date sometime during the summer, but while we wait Keppelmüller has decided to treat us to something very special: some campaign footage!

Spend the next eighteen minutes (and 32 seconds) watching a pre-alpha demonstration of Grand Tactician’s campaign map in action. I love how the map looks zoomed out, and also how it zooms in and gets more detailed:

Mentioned during the video are concepts such as logistics and supply routes, along with order-delays between HQs and sub-units. Also, trains!

This is definitely shaping up to be one of this year’s highlights in terms of releases, and we look forward to seeing more on Grand Tactician as we get closer to the release window.

Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861- 1865) has a steam page you can visit to see more and wishlist, if you want.
