Panzer Corps 2 will arrive in 2020, will be “king of wargames”

By Joe Robinson 28 Nov 2019 1

We haven’t heard much regarding Panzer Corps 2 in the past few months. Despite a promising start with several dev diaries in the first half of the year, things slowed down dramatically over the summer. In fact, the most recent dev diary was all the way back in August.

We’ve been wondering for a while now whether this will actually release in 2020 as we originally thought, and it’s been confirmed today that it won’t:

Panzer Corps 2 won’t be ready to release before the end of 2019. We are not far away now: the single player campaign has been completed, as are almost all of the in-game assets. We are currently in the testing and balancing stage.

At least you won’t be sitting around waiting in vain. Beta testing has been going on for most of the year (we think) so with the above information it’s probably not too far off. We’d be surprised if it’s not out within the first quarter of 2020. There's still a lot of pressure, but it's not had the technical hang-ups of, say, Close Combat.

Other confirmed information in the post includes:

  • 1000 different units
  • 60 scenarios in single-player
  • A Skirmish mode with randomly generated maps
  • Additional modes & challenges
  • A scenario editor

The post finishes off with the desire to make Panzer Corps 2 the “King” of war games, so we’re looking forward to seeing how Flashback rise to this incredibly modest goal they’ve set themselves.

We’ll bring you any more Panzer Corps 2 news as we get it.
