Publisher Monster Fight Club has a big sale on for its licensed Borderlands board game, Mister Torgue's Arena of Badassery. Every Borderlands item from the smallest expansion pack to the largest bundle is at least 25% off, to mark the sequel's crowdfunding campaign which began last week.
Released in 2023, this co-op board game is an action-packed character battler, where you and up to three Vault Hunter buddies take on the bad guys of Gearbox's shooter RPG franchise. All the best-known denizens of the wacky, brutal planet Pandora feature in this title, and you work together with your mates to mow down hordes of skags and psychos in custom scenarios. There's loot, special abilities and handfuls of different colored dice to roll.
I can't speak to the quality of this board game - I've not played it - but I notice it's got a 7.5 on BoardGameGeek, and they're usually a fairly tough crowd. At any rate, it seems like a good way for a Borderlands megafan to get their hands on a range of plastic minis, as there are 39 enemy and six vault hunter models in the core box.
Right now the base game is selling for $90, down from $120. If you were considering picking this up, but were put off by the price tag, a $30 saving may well be enough to change your mind.
While it's labeled as Mister Torgue's Arena of Badassery 2, Monster Fight Club's current Gamefound crowdfunder appears to be for a series of expansions rather than a direct sequel.
Invincible Arena comes with a bunch of bosses to battle and can be played as a standalone game, but there are three other boxes that add extra content, including a new mode that does away with the board altogether and reimagines MTAOB as a miniature skirmish game.
You can check out the sale here. And don't forget you can join the Wargamer Discord for plenty of tabletop discussion.
