Thanks to a Backerkit campaign arriving early next year, you'll have the chance to own Dungeons and Dragons dice with an authentic piece of ancient history inside. Mini Museum, a store that specializes in historic collectibles, launches the Roll With History crowdfunder in January 2026. The dice on sale feature fragments of 15th-century chainmail, dinosaur bones, and pieces of a 4.5-billion-year-old Campo del Cielo meteorite.
Mini Museum has partnered with premium dice retailer FanRoll to create these unusual resin dice. "As with past Mini Museum collections, every specimen inclusion will come complete with a Certificate of Authenticity and limited-run numbering", the Backerkit page says.
The chainmail die is a D20 featuring what looks to be a single link of chainmail from a 15th-century hauberk. Similarly, only a D20 seems to be available for the meteorite die. The Campo del Cielo meteorite is from one of the largest-known meteorite findings in history, with 100 tonnes of fragments recovered from the crater field in Argentina. While these meteorites reached Earth four to five thousand years ago, they're old enough that they were formed in the early days of the Solar System.
The dinosaur fossil dice are the only ones that will get a complete set. So far, Mini Museum has only revealed one of the seven dice, a D20 with a T-Rex bone fossil inside. This is estimated to be 66 million years old.
More information will be available from the Backerkit page when the crowdfunding campaign launches. Until then, you can talk all things D&D with fellow fans in our Wargamer Discord.
