Legendary Fighting Fantasy gamebooks get a full range of 40+ miniatures, plus a new adventure to play with

MyMiniFactory celebrates the influential roleplaying gamebooks with a tabletop miniatures line of its most revered (or feared) characters.

A new range of 28mm tabletop miniatures has been announced for the beloved Fighting Fantasy gamebook series. MyMiniFactory, a leading publisher of 3D printing files, launched the 40+ miniatures range on its website on October 30. The product launch campaign offers STL files of these minis, and a "physical limited run boxset" is also available.

Fighting Fantasy is the brainchild of Games Workshop co-founders Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone. The series expanded on the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure genre by adding a tabletop RPG style dice-based combat system. With its debut book published in 1982, Fighting Fantasy now has over seventy titles, and the series has sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

Unlike the D&Ds and Pathfinders of the world, Fighting Fantasy doesn't typically need maps and miniatures to illustrate its combat. However, the series' heroes and monsters would slot perfectly into most fantasy RPGs - and there's certainly some nostalgia value for anyone who prefers to collect and paint rather than play with their mini collection.

Plus, the campaign includes a specially written Advanced Fighting Fantasy adventure, complete with fold-out map designed for use with your minis. This is available on its own or as part of the physical box set. Said physical box set, oddly, doesn't seem to contain too many actual miniatures. There's one "limited edition physical model", but beyond the adventure, the content is mostly made up of cards with QR codes for the STLs and their stat blocks.

Unlike most crowdfunding campaigns, the digital contents of the 'FronTier campaign' are ready to go.The physical contents are estimated to arrive in March 2026, while STLs from a digital pledge will arrive immediately. MyMiniFactory is also running a painting competition alongside the campaign. Prizes include a 3D printer, resin, painting sets, vouchers, and books signed by Ian Livingstone.

"3D printing figures using STLs have opened up a whole new way of accessing beautiful tabletop miniatures, and I'm delighted that Fighting Fantasy and our talented partners at Blue Giant Studios can join the revolution", Livingstone says in a press release from MyMiniFactory. "These are a must for modelers, gamers, role-players and die-hard Fighting Fantasy fans alike."
