Looks like a remake of Fantasy Wars.
The Fantasy Wars series is pretty good, but I expect more from FG2.

<t>I loved the original Fantasy General for its simplicity and emphasis on combat rather than strategy. The music was, as everyone knows, simply awesome.<br/> <br/> I'm very interested in the sequel but I'm wondering if the game has been made too complicated. Also it looks like there are only two fa...

There are also PC games by Hexwar, Battles of the Ancient World and Ancient Battles, Hannibal. Not great games but cheap, interesting and fun.

I recently purchased The Battle Academy Series by Slitherine. A fun, tactical WW2 game that can be very challenging at higher difficulty levels.

Re: <t>The Best American Civil War Strategy Games</t>

That is Grand Tactician: Civil War, done by the same churl that did The Seven Years War. Now a question for both our esteemed editor (and my Boss) as well as the assembled, massive brainpower of the masses on the forum. When and why did computer wargaming decline to accept the time honored, traditi...

<t>Strategic games, which include issues like research, political efforts, economic issues, tech advances, are completely different than operational games, which focus on warfare issues only, and are the games I prefer.<br/> <br/> My favorite WW2 operational series at this point is Panzer Corps and ...

I'm a big fan of Panzer Corps and Klotzen looks quite interesting. Of course Panzer Corps 2 is the one I really want.

The creators of PG Forever moved on from that title and created Panzer Corps, Panzer General on steroids. I've been enjoying the various iterations of Panzer Corps for the past year and looking forward to Panzer Corps 2.

<t>I agree about the Hexwar series. Don't let the apparent simplicity of them fool you. Some of the scenarios are a bear to win, especially on the higher difficulty levels.<br/> <br/> I notice you left out the John Tiller series of Civil War simulations. They've recently received updates including v...

John Tiller Civil War Games

I'm looking at Tiller's Civil War games but, before I invest my $40, I'd like some input from those in the know. I'm especially interested in Antietam or Gettysburg though I'm open to any one of them. However I'm aware that while all of Tiller's civil war games have scores of scenarios, are there an...
